Re: April 2018 Restricted COS

I'm curious to know how long usually it takes home office to start releasing results after having the sitting meeting. I know that this month the sitting will be 11 April. Based from what I saw in March, there were results the following day but these were released slowly and some got their results ...

Re: April 2018 Restricted COS

Hey guys, I’ve been reading up on how the points are calculated. I have 20 points from RMLT, but just wondering if the salary points comes from the advertisement or the offer of employment? For example, if my employer advertises my job at 35-45k, but only pays me 35k, what would my points be? 35 po...

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

I find it hard to believe they’d raise the minimum to 32 points when there are a lot of NHS roles in particular that fall well under 32 points. Even band 6 roles (which are the hardest to staff within the NHS) are under 32k in London. Heck 31k is the starting increment for a B7 out of London which i...

In that case, check direct with HMRC: https://www.gov.uk/working-for-yourself There are also some detailed guides out there like these: https://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/knowledge/articles/2017/06/whats-my-employment-status-am-I-employed-or-self-employed/ https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-guides/self-emp...

Re: Is this classed as self-employment?

Ask the agency? Thanks! Yeah I asked them before and they said it was absolutely fine but I also know from experience that sometimes recruitment agencies aren't exactly the most truthful...i.e. they'll say it's fine because they want the extra business when in reality it's really not...so I thought...

The link below give details of recent parliament debate on this issue. https://www.theyworkforyou.com/debates/?id=2018-02-26b.533.2 Wow, this doesn't sound too positive as the Minister of Immigration keeps stating the following terms: "carefully controlled economic migration, "protecting ...

Is this classed as self-employment?

Hi guys, I was recently living in the UK on the tier 5 YMS visa. At the end of this I returned home and have been trying for sponsorship through tier 2 general to return to the UK however unfortunately the employer wanting to hire/sponsor me have not been successful in obtaining a restricted certifi...

Re: Advice needed

Sad to say this event has broken our relationship apart. Uncertainty about whether or not she'll be able to make it back in time and how long we've already been apart was a big obstacle to overcome. I'm absolutely gutted that this decision was out of our control. Sorry to hear about your relationsh...

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

What if my employer is willing to raise salary in coming April application? I understand it should be within the range of salary published in Advertisement. But, is there any restrictions in the range? Like, is it possible to provide wide range say 30,000-40,000 / year? The published salary is cons...

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

33 points. Non shortage. Obviously rejected. My employer has said something strange to me. They said the email said i couldnt apply in april and will need to in May. I told them theyve probably misread it and it means the application wont be carried over into April and they need a fresh application...

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

Hopefully all the approvals and refusals will be given out by the end of the week. This might be wishful thinking but I’m hoping the delay in giving out the refusals this month was because they wanted to take a closer look at the number/type of applications they had before refusing them right away s...

Hi! I am a Canadian on a 2 year Teir 5 - YMS visa that is due to expire Nov 10 2018. I have been trying to find information on a few things for when the end of my visa comes up. My boyfriend and I are planning on travelling SE asia for a number of months once my visa expires and then travel to Cana...

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

this is a bit crazy no approval or rejections .. I wonder if this could possibly be due to discussion in parliament regarding the Tier 2 Rcos or is just a delay from the home office anyways hoping that it is the former and all backlogs get cleared this month I was wondering this too, if maybe they’...

Yes. It's still Not confirmed. So let's not get over excited. Anybody has any idea whether this decision will be taken before April - 2018? We don’t even know if a decision will be happening in regards to any changes to this at all - it’s just speculation that the government MIGHT be talking about ...

Nothing is happening yet guys. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

It's just speculation based on someone's linked in post that they MAY remove some come April and it's rumoured it's being discussed in parliament.

Re: March 2018 Restricted COS

Removing the SOL applications from the quota in particular would be helpful all round. Needed staff like nurses can be recruited as needed without it effect...

Discussions in Parliament at present. ...and no general Immigration Rule changes (except above) in April. More likely to be May/June. Hiya, where did the info come from if...
