i have not got the BRP yet, but on the letter they have given as 16th April 2018, which i believe it is not the Visa Start date.

i have initial Visa of 3 Years which is valid until April 2018.

i thought they may give 3 more years visa, so that if my ILR rejected in 2020 (completes my 5 years in UK), i can stay for 1 more year which makes total 6 years. Please correct me if am wrong.

i think this will be done by Migration Advisory Committee based on comprehensive review of all occupations and job titles, i think recently they have done this survey in 2015.
