@D419125: Thanks for the quick answers, most of which confirm my own thoughts. Finding other referees might be tricky though, so perhaps I could include reference on pg 13 that although referees live together they are not related? All HMRC letters for my wife only provide the PO Box for the tax offi...

Form AN Naturalisation application

Hi Folks My wife (non-EEA family member) received her permanent residence sticker in her passport back in September 2012, so is planning to submit her BC application in September this year. Looking over the application form (Form AN), Booklet AN and Guide AN a few questions have arisen...which don't...

Spouse details necessary?

Hi Jambo I noticed in section 1.31 - 1.43 of the application form questions are asked about your spouse, which according to the AN Guide is "1.31 – 1.36 To help us determine your eligibility for naturalisation we need to know a little about your partner, if you have one. On this part of the for...

EEA4 --> BC...confirmation of requirements

I am a Swiss National and my wife is a non-EEA National who recently received her confirmation of Permanent residence stamp in her passport. As this required obtaining 5 years worth of "evidence of me exercising my treaty rights", would I be correct in saying that after 12 months (Sep 2013...

Portuguese Citizenship Query

Hi Do I qualify for Portuguese citizenship if my Great-Grandmother was born, raised and died there as a national herself? My Grandfather was born in Mozambique in 1918 (a Portuguese colony at the time) and spent his schooling years in Switzerland (my Great-Grandfather was Swiss) and his late teens a...

Hi Plum70 Thanks for the advice regarding the bank statements. I have actually ordered statements from my bank for the past 5 years, costing me £10 and I will need to wait 1-2 months for it to be arrive. I agree that all that paper would be overkill, however I do want to have some evidence of income...

Hi Jambo

Thanks for the quick reply and great advice! :D

I will put together all the necessary docs and see how 'heavy' it is. The last thing I want is to have the case worker wade for ages through 'too much' info when 'enough' will do.

EEA3/4 Advice on required documentation

Hi All Arriving in the UK at the end of January 2007 and being in employment since 26 February 2007 until now I am at that point of needing to apply for my wife's EEA4 and my EEA3. I am Swiss and my wife is South African (her EEA2 expires in July) and come end Feb 2012 I will have been in active emp...

Great - so as long as I am sending the info in "in time" the worst that can happen is they ask for more "proof" later on. Sounds reasonable. What about the address to whom I send both applications - would I send them both to the EEA2 department, since sending them apart will mean...

Postal Question

I am curious....now that I look at both EEA1 and EEA2 forms.....to whom I should address both? I mean, in the EEA1 form it states to address to "European Applications EEA1" and in the EEA2 form is states to address to "European Applications EEA2"....yet both forms are sent to the...

Updated Situation

Hi Guys My situation has changed somewhat since I last posted to this board, and thought it wise to get your input. For the last 2 months I have been working through a Ltd Company, registered to my Accountants Address in London but with me as the Director (and sole member). As such, the Accountants ...

What other documentation did you (and your spouse/partner) send in your one application for the EEA1 and EEA2 applications?
Did you reference the EEA1 application in the EEA2?

A New Development

Hi Again I got a phone call from a lady at the Immigration Advisory Service yesterday. She had the following to say about my application: 1. It is best for me to apply for EEA1, when my wife applies for EEA2, otherwise the response from Home Office would be "who is this Swiss National - we don'...

Ok - will take your advice then and stick to the minimum requirements. So if I fill in section 4 on both forms (along with my employer) there is not need for me to tick section 6/7? I would have thought it necessary to do both....or is 6/7 ONLY needed when you are truly "self sufficient" -...

I am starting see through the hazy fog now.... :D Can you clarify your reference to EEA1, section 6 and EEA2, section 7? When I read both of them they tend to lean more along the lines of the person who is "providing" for the applicant, while in the UK. Since EEA1 is simply me applying for...

Hmm.....you have given me some real food for thought here. Looking over the HMRC website link you gave me, it points to me being an employee and not self-employed. This is actually good news for me, with regards to the EEA2 application, since there is no need for me to show my "business books&q...

Hi Docterror Thanks for your time. I have been through the EEA2 application form a bit now and it makes more sense for me (from my perspective) to fill in Section 4 (Employed) instead of Section 5 (Self-Employed). Since I am working through a Ltd Company and am the only member of the company, my com...

Hi Docterror OK, so it would appear that my application would be processed quicker were I to apply for an EEA1 residence card (for myself). With regards to timing both applications (assuming I would be doing them together, as recommended), would I need to wait another 3 months before applying so as ...

So would you agree that I could do the application form myself, as long as I submit an EEA1 application also to give the EEA2 application more substance?

Thanks

Another Question

Hi Docterror So, essentially as long as I send off the application before end of June (perhaps end of May?), then she is allowed to stay in the UK until her application has been considered? Hmm....that does make me stress a bit less! :D If I sent off the application end of May, that would mean I cou...

EEA2 requirements?

Hi My Wife and I recently relocated to Scotland, from South Africa. We are both South African, but I am also a Swiss Citizen. We are allowed to live & work in the UK based on my Swiss Citizenship, although my wife's permit needs extension. She has an EEA Family Permit which allows her free movem...
