It is indeed, my own current wait is 8 months this week with no indication of progress. It comes when it comes.

It would be interesting to hear from people whose application was submitted at other embassies apart from London.
London seems to turn applications round in 6 months or less, here in Switzerland my docs were received on 11th August but no result yet.

I'm sure it would but the 'Contact us' page of the embassy site should get you a quick response if you wanted to check.

@joanward A bit of advice, make sure your witness is someone who is easily contactable and likely to reply promptly, my doctor was contacted to ask if I really had signed the form in front of him (so do that properly), from his account I think he couldn't be reached and took a while to reply to them...
