Re: Tier-1 General Dependent - Outside UK

Aditya, my wife and I will be doing something similar from India. Do you know if the "main applicant" is allowed to accompany the dependant and enter the visa application centre?

Thanks.

silent_warrior, thank you, that is what I mean. Manka10, thank you. Presumably that will be the registration of a marriage pursuant to the Indian Special Marriage Act. The difficulty with this of course is that there is a need to have resided in India for at least 30 days before the date of the noti...

Hello All, I am a Tier 1 (General) migrant and I have been in the UK for more than 4 years. I will soon be getting married in India. My fiancée would like to apply for her Tier 1 (General) Dependant entry clearance shortly after our wedding. We will have all the necessary supporting documentation, i...

Spouse visa for H1B holder

Hello People, This is on behalf of some friends of mine in South Africa. Here's the situation: there's a girl who is an Indian citizen, but was born and brought up in South Africa. She intends to marry a guy who is presently in the US on a work permit (I am guessing she means H1B visa). The question...

Well, my employment actually starts on August 27th. My employer applied for the permit as early as February. The permit is valid for 5 years.

Thanks.

Entry into the UK on a Work Permit - Query on Dates

Hi,
If I am travelling to the UK on a work permit issued on February 28th, I have until August 28th to enter the country, right? Entering on August 26th shouldn't be a problem, I hope.

Thank you.

Cheers,
Kunal

WP Entry Clearance from India

Hi,
Has anyone around here applied for EC on a Work Permit from India in the recent past? Is it taking as long as the HSMP visas for processing? Also, is there a medical test required, or is it only for specific industries.

Thank you.

Thanks a lot Docterror. However, I read a few people claiming that ECOs turned down such requests for applicants applying for HSMP EC. I gather from your post that such requests are normally honoured for WP applicants.

Thanks again.

Work Permit Entry Clearance, India

Hi, I've received my work permit, valid for 5 years. Since my assignment does not start until three months later, I was wondering if it would be alright to request the ECO to defer the effective date of the EC by 3 months. Does anyone if the ECOs in India, and Chennai in particular, honour such requ...
