Re: Tax year query- Self employed

I am no expert, but I would say it should be fine, since you do not have to file accounts 6th April to 5th April each year. But I would suggest that rather than write a note explaining it yourself, have your accountant provide one, obviously on letter head etc? Their explanation will be better recei...

Re: Judicial review rejected now want to do a fresh application

I would expect that if your visa has expired and your appeal lost, then may they will detain you since they will deport you. What visa would you apply for?

Re: Slightly unusual situation

Why are you complicating things so much (aside from having two women sharing you, which will probably throw up its own challenges)? Simply say that the girl you are with now is just renting the place with you. She sleeps in one of the rooms and you sleep in the other. Do not say she is your girlfrie...

Real Time Lines

Hi, I am considering appealing a spouse visa refusal for my wife who is outside the UK. I am so confused about the process and how long it will take. Does anyone have real experience of making an appeal and how long it will take. To be clear, I am not looking for a court hearing, I want it done by p...

Re: Process time for UK spouse visa application

There is no way to track it, and what good is just simply knowing it has not been looked at. No one useful to call. You just wait until you receive an answer.

Re: Spouse Visa Extension Costs

That is just plain outrageous. What happens if at that time, things are hard and we can't afford to pay, would she just be told to leave?

I am surprised and angry that a UK national is made to pay tax to remain with his wife, just because she is from Asia.

Thanks CR.

I don't expect that when we get to 5 years the application is free by any chance, or do we need to find the same yet again?

Spouse Visa Extension Costs

Hi, Sorry if this is already done to death, but I can't find the costs of extending a spouse visa after 2.5 years. I think it's currently £1,033? Is the health surcharge needed to be paid again as well? Not that we have reached 2.5 years yet, new spouse visa application, but I want to save sufficien...

Re: spouse visa

RCJN, From what I have read, your wife does not have £62.5K, she has 1/2 that. Therefor you are tryig to decieve the HO and receive a visa under false pretences. This is clearly illegal, and if you are caught, then I would suggest your chances of ever bringing her here are significantly reduced. Tak...

Re: Wife visa after overstaying for 2 years - wife of a settled person

Go straight to an accountant with all the relevant details of your directorship and get the document asap. Our visa was refused for something similar, and now I am rushing to get the correct document. The rules state this is needed and they will refuse you even if it is not relevant now.

Unaudited Accounts

Hi, I am British, wife is Vietnamese. I am self employed and we applied for spouse visa. I recall reading when applying for a spouse visa, that if the tax return is less than 1 month old, it is not necessary to also provide unaudited accounts for the last tax year? Is this so? Or am I dreaming. I ca...

Re: Help/advice required, both panicking and scared

Hi Trevor, So pleased to hear your good news about re-application. Bit of a relief for now. I got bad news today, visa turned down because no VFA4 form and no unaudited accounts supplied. I spoke to HO help-line and confirmed I do not need VFA4, since I none of the criteria for filling out are appli...

Re: Help/advice required, both panicking and scared

Hi Trevor, I tried to PM, but it said some people do not have permission to read PM, so I guess you're right, you need to be here longer. Stay in touch through here, as would like to find out how it goes for you both. You should make contact with your MP though, as he/ she might just be able to get ...

Re: Help/advice required, both panicking and scared

There is also the money as well, after 2.5 years, we will have to find another £1K+++ whatever they have put it up to, so we can keep living together, and then I really don't know what the final payment is at year 5. It's a tax on my marriage. I have a good mind to see what action can be taken again...

Re: Help/advice required, both panicking and scared

Well, it should be my given right to marry and live with anyone I choose, obvious exceptions granted, as I am 100% British, it should be a fairly simple formality. My human right to be with a girl I met in Germany. What the HO don't seem to take into consideration is what would be in it for me if it...

Re: Help/advice required, both panicking and scared

Trevor, When mine and my now wife's marriage visitor visa got turned down, with no right to appeal or judicial review, I ignored that and went to my MP. He raised it with the HO, through channels we can't use. She was in VN when we applied though. I also took a second direct complaint route. Not an ...

Re: UK Spouse visa and criminal record

You were convicted of DD only, and NOT of causing death or serious injury by DD. So your answer is yes you have a conviction, but NO, you have never been convicted of causing harm etc because you did not. In the UK, DD is obviously and offence, but causing harm etc while drunk is a far more serious ...

Re: Spouse Visa Rejected- Help needed!!!!!

Jaune, My thoughts are to appeal the decision, and that is the course I would take if I was in your shoes. It might take a few weeks, but it will be free and I think you would have a strong case to argue that the solicitor (the HO advise using a solicitor) was at fault for allowing you to make the a...

Re: Spouse Visa Rejected- Should Appeal or Re-apply ?

Seagul, you should know, that NOTHING can be done to prove you are going to get married in the UK, until the fiancé has been in the country for 8 days, only then can the couple apply for a license and serve notice of intent to marry. This is official and I have the HO document to prove this. Booking...

Re: Spouse Visa Rejected- Should Appeal or Re-apply ?

It looks like your relationship was just one year old when you married her and you only met twice? Were these long visits, or just short vacations? My wife's marriage visitor visa was rejected after we had been together for 3 years, and met all over the World and spent months together and we passed ...

Re: Spouse Visa Rejected- Should Appeal or Re-apply ?

Before you do anything, make sure you can gather the evidence necessary to pass the required level of proof that you are in a genuine relationship and not just that you met once to get married. You would not believe the amount of evidence my wife and I submitted to make them believe our relationship...

OK, so I will answer my own question here. You just need to turn up to VFS in London, walk in service. Take a number and sit yourself down and wait...… and wait until your turn. Take your supporting documents and a printout of the front page of your partners on-line application, so you have the appl...

Re: Spouse visa advice needed

Isn't a zero hours contract effectively the same as being self employed? Do you do your own tax return each year? If so, then you would need to provide your up to date tax return.
