Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

Hi Monty, That is certainly the case for the Marriage visitor visa that we went for, it's 6 months from the date of issue, and not arrival into the UK. She received her passport back with the visa in it, two days old already. You couldn't make up this stupidity up really. We went for that one, becau...

Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

It would have been very useful to have had a friend in the right position in the HO, I can tell you. The overturning of the incorrectly made decision I received took forever, when really it could have been sorted with a five minute phone call and an email. She was supposed to be here in March, and i...

Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

Hi Monty, Well, then as long as you two have been together long enough and have proven that, you said your income looks plenty high enough, if you own your own home or have a suitable stable place to live, I don't see any problem. Londoner made an interesting point about age gap. Actually my fiancé ...

Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

Monty, Do keep me posted. I'd love to hear the result, I feel it could be positive, or they will perhaps come back with a request for more information or clarification, before they can grant the visa. And yes,I have dealt with many government departments in past roles, and it was the most frustratin...

Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

Hi Again Monty, Yes it peed me off too, that my Fiance is also very well educated has a good job in an international company in Vietnam that would gladly employ her in the UK (in-fact we tried for Tier 2 just at the time the RCOS score required went from 21 points to 55 and stayed there for months) ...

Re: Fiancee visa now entering week 15

Hi Monty, I feel for you, I've had so many issues with getting firstly a holiday visa for my now fiancé and more recently a marriage visitor visa from Vietnam. The HO turned us down on really stupid reasons for the holiday visa, (the pictures of us together in different parts of the World were not d...

Re: FLR FP Pregnant partner

Hi, You can't chose who you fall in love with, but you need to be aware that falling for someone who is from a non EU country will have monetary and legal costs associated with it, not to mention red tape frustration, and just accept that you will need to sacrifice some money to be with the one you ...

Re: Marriage Visit Visa

Thanks CR. Most helpful, there doesn't seem to be a fast track route available, but I seem to recall that we could send the documents to the UK and have them submitted by a solicitor who could get them fast tracked, but I must have got myself confused.

Re: Marriage Visit Visa... New Question

Question, please answer if you know the answer rather than an opinion. I am a little confused, once my fiancé and I are married, she will return to Vietnam and then we need to apply for a spouse residency visa for her to come and live and work here in the UK. Is it me that applies for a visa to brin...

Re: Detention Centre

If he is illegal in this country, he should go back to his own and re-apply when the two of you are married. It makes me cross people expect to be able to stay illegally, just becaus they have managed to evade capture for 2 years.

Re: Refused settlement visa

If your fiancé is a UK national, then he should write to his MP and have them approach the H/O. He should make it clear that the evidence sent was not considered. And send the documents they said were missing, that you provided, to show that he earns enough. Also, write here and complain that the EC...

Re: Illegal person married to British person

Dilbar, The fact remains that you are an illegal immigrant and as such you have no rights to be in this country or to marry anyone here, and from what I have read, you are not fleeing persecution and your life is not in danger. Simple plain truth of the matter. People like you make it hard for hones...

Re: Marriage Visit Visa

Update. I am very pleased to say that I managed to get a review of the decision and had it overturned, my fiance has been granted her visa. What I did was take a two tiered approach, firstly I went to my MP and asked him to take up my case, explaining clearly how the decision that was made, was made...

Re: Asylum claim due to domestic violence in India

Sorry, but I don't think anyone can tell you that it will all be alright, since I don't think anyone can possibly know. Your case is very complicated, and I expect that you will have a hard time proving that your in laws are so bad as you say, and that your life is in danger, and everything else tha...

Re: I’m I allowed to returned back to the UK despite voluntarily leaving?

I also read today, from a link posted on this board, that to come to the UK under the age of 18 you will need the support of your parents, which it doesn't sound like they will give. I'm afraid I don't think your chances are good at this time, if you know that you are unable to return for 2 years, t...

Re: I’m I allowed to returned back to the UK despite voluntarily leaving?

Hello, I don't know the answer to your question as to whether you would get a student visa, but I would expect that you would need to be able to fund your flights, and be able to prove you can fund yourself when you are here. If you do not have enough for a £4K fine that you were told you would need...

Re: Asylum claim due to domestic violence in India

Are you currently working in the UK, if not, how do you support yourself?

And why don't you go back to India and clear your name, and rescue your daughter, who you said is being held by the in laws?

I have no idea, what I thought was my very very strong case didn't go through. However, you won't know until you turn up for the meeting. My advice is do not miss it.

If the HO has asked you to a meeting, then you must go and find out what they want. It's the law.

Re: Asylum claim due to domestic violence in India

Are you saying you did not attempt to kill your wife and that the arrest warrant is false, made up by your brother and father in law?

What did you tell the HO?

What about going and living in another country where you don't need a visa?

Re: Visitors visa

Hi Maria,

Yes you can, it's they who need to prove they will go back to their country. So they will need to show strong ties, jobs, family, property and not you. It's their visa, not yours.

Re: why can't I appeal?

Hi, Yes, you can absolutely say that your "friendship" has developed into more. And then apply for a spouse visa, but you will need to prove the ongoing nature of the relationship, and your intention to marry. I know, as I have gone through it, so when you get to the point you want to appl...
