They were ready to put me on another project. They did not withdraw the offer. It was such an excellent opportunity but now I am AGAIN joining a small company due to some very strange reason.

I don't think you need any letter from your current employer.
Your new employer has to apply for new work permit.
Also, I don't think there any thing such as change of work permit.
Now, it has to be new work permit only.

Dealing with Agencies in big problem here. I applied to employers directly who posted their adverts on CWJobs.Co.UK. I got quite a few calls for interview and quite a few of them very good company. A friend my mine did the same. Just before 3 days before the expiry of his visa, he sent his passport with cover letter saying that his employer WP is being processed and even without WP he got 5 years visa.

For some employers like Google, Microsoft etc job is strictly on the basis of merit, skills etc and not on the basis of Race, Nationality, Ethnicity etc... finally managed to get another offer but no that attractive...
its less by £7K, which is a lot...
spoke to company again...they said there may not be work but cant guarantee...also said, we wont waste your and our time if we were to make you redundant immediately...

Hi All, I received an offer from a reputable company and they are in the process of doing reference check. No joining date is fixed yet. Offer made on 29 May 08. However, today they called me and said that the project for which I was selected is canceled and if I join them there may not be any work....
