Forget about any LEGAL stuffs here... You MUST let them know, via agency if applicable, that you can not join them. Come up with politically correct answers like your employers has given you an excellent opp. and great salary hikes which you could not refuse etc... Its best to speak rather than emai...

Does this mean I need to apply for ILR on the last day of my visa expiration (1st Dec 2013) and thus have to land in U...

Re: Could go ahead and apply for ILR under old rules (4 year

I came to the UK in January 06, while the old system was in place (four years on work permit). Since I came in before the rules were changed, do you think it is possible that a home office case worker would take pity on my case. Folks, I just don't want to hang on longer and have the rules changed ...

It would entirely depend on your skills and how badly employer wants you.
If they want you they are ready to wait for upto 2 months.
Generally, mostly are anyway ready for 1 month.

Here, last employers reference matters. None asks for any release letter here.

He clarified that they do not count the day you leave and sat/sun/bank holidays. They count the days in between that are working days and the day you return to the UK as also being outside UK mama, I did not know that they count only weekdays and not weekends. Don't compare the market with job postings on the job site... Both are very different things... You could see 100s of jobs advertised on sites but still you may not get the interview calls.. To be very honest, no one can give you clear picture whether you should come here during Nov or not.. It woul...

What are your skills?

It looks like Permanent will be better in your case for two reasons.

1. 200/day is not a good contract rate and 31K permanent is good
2. You were out of work for 4 months which means it is tough to get a job

I would suggest go with Permanent and work for a year or so.
