That's very surprising. The original e-mail I obtained from the work permit department said nothing about contracts. I would contact them if you haven't already.
My husband got his permit about two weeks ago. It took about a month. It would have taken a couple of weeks but the employer didn't fill one of the questions out correctly. It was very minor correction though. My husband now has is PPS and is getting paid. It's definitely a relief for us. Unfortunat...
Just an update regarding this work permit. My husband got his working permit approved a couple of weeks ago. This permit allows him to work while we're waiting for the EU1 form to be processed (i previously posted info for it). Unfortunately he's on a contact so the permit is only for that contract ...
no you don't need to go home to get the permit. You first find a job and then the employer fills out a good part of the form for you. You then just send it in with copies of your documentation (passports, marriage certificate and letter explaining pending EU1 application) to the work permit departme...
erik84, my understanding is that you need some kind of visa/permit such as a working permit in your passport to even apply for a PPS number. That's what social welfare told me.
Megmog, I've just contact immigration regarding the legal evidence of residence of a member state (i think you're in the situation as I am). Apparently all you have to do is write a letter explaining your situation of why you don't have evidence (ie. you resided in a country that isn't a memb...

Platinum, I sent an e-mail query to the employment permit section in January and they sent me an e-mail back just a few days ago with that information. My husband hasn't sent the form in as yet so we can't tell you how exactly how long it takes but it is better than sitting around for the EU form to...
I can't see a problem either but i'm not sure what to send back to them. No we didn't provide evidence of living together prior to Ireland. Purely because the application didnt' ask for it. We could easily provide that evidence but it will have an Australian address. The document says "legal re...
Hi all, I have a question regarding evidence of legal residence in another state (mentioned eariler in this forum). My husband just submitted the EU1 form and we have been requested to provide this evidence. My husband and I are both Australian but I also have a Spanish passport (EU member). My pare...
Just some advice. If you send in a letter along with your application stating that you need your passports (and documentation) back asap and provide them a registered post envelope they'll send it back. We send our application in last week that way and I got the passports back today.
That's ok Birdy. Hey, I've got a question if anyone can help. I just received my documentation back from the DOJ and they require 'evidence of legal residence in another member of state'. My situation is that I'm an Australian with a spanish passport. My parents (who are both spanish) immigrated to ...
Birdy, well the original email I received was a little bit confussing on that point. The form forwarded to me appears to be one that an employer can fill out for the applicant, but the original e-mail also stated the following: "To apply for a work permit for the spouse of EU national follow th...
Hi, My husband has just applied for the EU1 form last week. Although we received our confirmation and passports back in a week, we're sure it will take months to process. According to employment permit section the non-EEA member can apply for a 1 year working permit while the EU1 application is bein...
