Re: 6 weeks rule - travel to UK - how to count -NON-EU

to be honest would be almost impossible to get a summary of all my trips to Uk in the last 5 years :( I saw on this forum someone saying that the departure and arrival day doesn't count. But I guess no one knows for sure :( I believe that they count only whole day absences so if you travel for a 1 ...

Re: Clarification of 6 weeks absence rule

No, they don't count the departure and arrival days. Thanks, everyone for answering my last question. I have another question ... Does the department count the day of departure and day of arrival as absent from the country? Is it full 24 hours they count as absent? I ask because I am over by two day...

Re: Residence Vs. Visa Deadline Issues

From my experience, I could add my name in a joint bill for internet (which is paid by direct debit) and I also could open my bank account without bills.

Re: Student Visa

I think if u get an offer for a Master’s degree from a recognised university and are able to show financial support, this should suffice to get a visa.

Re: Naturalisation & 6wk+ absences

Well, I have travelled a lot and I can’t even remember the number of days to be honest and as I said that before I wasn’t even aware of that 6-week rule when I applied (which is over a year ago). The fact that the rule was drafted in without any official explanation from INIS tells me that it is no...

Re: 6 weeks absence - how long is too long?

I just got my second citizenship application refusal. 5 years non-EU. My first application was refused because I didn't know their internal rules for deduction days. So I followed just official rules. This time I waited till number of days out of IRL dropped to circa 42 days on my application date ...

Re: Residency calculator

Hi all, I have a question regarding the Residency calculator. It mentions about entering the dates of the stamps in a passport, does that include entering the dates on visas issued by Ireland? Many thanks No, visa dates don't count. The first stamp would be the landing stamp that would have been pl...

Re: OVER 6 WEEK RULE ABSENCE

Hi- I'm slightly confused about this rule. My question is: Do we have to mention the absences which are longer than 6 week or all the trips needs to be mentioned if I was cumulatively out of Ireland for more than 6 week in any given year? E.g. I can have 7 trips of one week long. Does that count as...
