Waiting times in Canberra for Spouse visa to UK

Hello and good day.

Can anyone help with regard to current waiting times in Canberra for a spouse visa to the uk? Their web site says up to 12 weeks. I think and hope our application is straight forward and may take less time. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Many thanks, Mark.

Thanks Platinum and all who have replied. We are now looking to marry in New Zealand. I've done some research and it looks like the place for us to have a nice, simple wedding.

Any info that could help us on our way would be gladly received!

Thank you very much for that, it does help, however... Don't forget to check that you meet all the requirements for an Unmarried Partner visa. I've looked at a fair bit of info and am beginning to think we don't have what they are looking for. We have been boyfriend and girlfriend since August 2004 ...

From what I can gather, the more well presented, clear, evidence you can show the better. I am British and my girlfriend is Australian, we are looking at a similar scenario to you. There are 3 links I've come accross that could be useful: Section 13.14 may help to clarify - http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk...
