I'm currently in the same situation as yourself - my visa expires in August but I've also been away for work for more than 180 days and as such will fail my ILR application.

Please can you advise were you successful with the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa? Thanks.

As per my understanding your Tier 2 was started on Aug, 2013 so literally you can stay till 2019 Aug to complete your 6 years on T2G.
