Earliest date to apply for ILR (fiancé to family)

Good evening, I am wondering when the earliest possible dat to apply for ILR is on the 5 year family route. I have been reading on the gov.uk site that I can apply within the 28 days before eligibility, but I am unsure what that date would be. I first entered the UK on a fiancé visa on 1 April 2019....

Re: Work on fiancé visa?

Getting caught up in another storm of bureaucracy over a single line of text is not something I want to do, so I will keep hushed.

Thanks immensely for the help. 8)

Re: Work on fiancé visa?

It is valid for 6 months.

Do I need to contact anybody to get the text corrected or just stay quiet until after the ceremony and we start going for FLR(M)?

Work on fiancé visa?

Hello there, I was finally approved for a proposed civil partnership visa back in December and I am now in the planning stages of moving to the UK. One thing that I am confused about, however: the visa given to me says "Work Permitted, No Public Funds." I was under the assumption that visa...

Re: Fiancé Visa - From USA

Results from the New York hub are trickling out now. I got mine back: Posted via UPS: October 4, 2018 "UKVI has accepted" email: December 14, 2018 "Decision made" email: December 20, 2018 Passport and documents returned: December 24, 2018 The good news: I was accepted! :D And it ...

Re: Bank Statements - No date, no heading, address in different language

Are any of the individual transactions dated? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about missing statement header dates, as long as the officer can see that the transactions go back as far as they need (six months, right?) I would not worry about the Japanese address since the important bits of the stat...

Re: Spouse Visa

My employer does not issue signed paystubs and also uses an online portal\direct deposit for sending them. I printed mine out on standard letter paper and attached them and UKVI had no issue with that. As long as they are not altered in any way then they should count as originals. One clause in the ...

Moving all the stuff

Hello, I am wondering from all the folks that have moved from another continent to the UK: what did you do with all of your "stuff?" I have some electronics (a PC and a game console) and some clothes that I would like to take with me to London. Which is the most economical option of gettin...

Yes, I am going for Settlement - Civil Partnership (same forms and process as fiance). Just attended bio appointment yesterday. They gave me a paper that says everything must be sent to the New York address, it listed an order that they want the supporting docs in, and it said you have 5 days to pos...

Re: Fiancé Visa - From USA

Sorry, I know three posts in a row is confusing and spammy, but I think I found the answer. I paid for the VFS courier service at $70, and the shipping label now goes to: VFS SERVICES USA INC. UKVI SCANNING HUB 750 3RD AVENUE, SUITE 964 NEW YORK, NY 10017 Last time I bought courier service from VFS,...

Re: Fiancé Visa - From USA

Just seeing if anyone here has verified where to send the documents (Sheffield vs. NYC?) I have my bio appointment in Washington, D.C. in a week and I want to make sure that I have all my ducks in a row here. VFS (the courier people that UKVI insisted that I use last time I applied) has been changin...

Re: Civil partnership visa denied - can I appeal?

Sorry if I'm coming off as rude, I'm merely frustrated. A simple phone call or email from UKVI and I would have had bank records in their hands within a day. Why did they not reach out to us? $2000 and four months completely wasted.

Re: Civil partnership visa denied - can I appeal?

Gov.uk's guidance states: "You'll need to include proof of income with your application. If you or your partner are employed, you could include:" -bank statements -6 months of payslips -a letter from your employer I don't know about anyone else, but in my world "could" implies 'n...

Civil partnership visa denied - can I appeal?

I just received my visa application decision in the mail. I was refused on the grounds of one missing document (six months of bank statements). Everything else was fine, I included six months of payslips AND a letter from my sponsor's employer stating that he has worked there for years, makes the sa...

Re: Fiancé visa - Help with suitable "intention to marry" evidence

There is a question in the VA form that asks about the visa applicant's intentions when entering the UK. I used that box to briefly talk about our rough ceremony plans. (keyword: rough ) Since I do not yet have a visa, I only mentioned the steps that we would take should I be approved. This includes...

I finally paid the six quid and sent an email on day 48. The response didn't tell me anything new, but I guess it made me feel better? If your form is a VAF form, then you can find a pretty handy reference sheet from gov.uk. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-uk-visa-applications-using-forms-vaf2-to-vaf8b There are other guidance documents available on gov.uk as well, including some neat outlines of financial re...

Re: PLEASE HELP big mess with visa4uk

You can request a refund from the site itself by clicking "View Payment" on the application that you would like to cancel. There is a tiny Request Refund link further down the page (number 7). Also, from the FAQ ( https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ ) on the IHS charge: How do I ge...

Re: PLEASE HELP big mess with visa4uk

The site allows you to send in as many at a time as you like, but that would not make much sense unless you are moving a family. Basically, on my Visa4UK dashboard, I have two completed applications. The first one is the one with the appointment that I could not reschedule. Its status reads 'Complet...

Re: UK fiancee visa - how long does it remain valid to use?

I figured. :( Some of the language on the family visas section of gov.uk makes the entire process seem like a breeze. When it comes to fiancé/fianceé visas especially, there is very little information on the visa itself and little to no information about what to do once you actually get it. Oh well.

I went through the same troubles with requesting a refund. All government offices were closed in Washington, D.C. on the day of my biometrics appointment due to a windstorm. With no way to reschedule the appointment from Visa4UK's site, I contacted UKVI for advice. They told me to request a cancella...

Re: UK fiancee visa - how long does it remain valid to use?

Once the wedding\ceremony has been performed and the two are married\partnered, does the foreign partner then need to pay an additional £1,033\£1,643 for FLR(M) or is there a way to simply switch from fiancé to FLR(M)?
