British citizenship/overstayer

Hi, out of curiosity, in the form AN application for naturalisation question 1.29-1.34 asks about the details of the husband, partner, etc. Is it possible that somebody can have their application refused because of partner have overstayed? Would they go that deep or not?.

Any ideas

Thanks so much
