Me and my Brazilian girlfriend flew to France from Bournemouth last month and you cant get a much smaller airport than that. And we got more exit questions and checks on the way out than we have ever had coming into the UK. Because it was not busy they had plenty of time to go overboard on the chec...

Re: Schengen Visa

I was just wondering, I am coming to the end of my UK working holiday visa in the UK (in fact it expires first week in July) when I will be returning to South Africa. I was hoping to end my 2 years of fun by doing a trip into Europe for 2 weeks. I have previously gone into Europe on this visa so I ...

Kind of doubt that they are at risk in not finishing their education by the time the HO makes a decision. Your biggest concern is taking advantage of t...

We've sent everything we had except maybe the council tax bill, we shred our documents and obviously don't have some, but from what we sent there was a lot for the last 2 years. We have a big age difference between me and my husband, but it's a private issued and shouldn't concern other people. Now...

My guess is SYH is on a wind up. But there are problems. You should have made the application at the soonest opportunity, and there is an argument to say that they have been here illegally for this time. Victoria oh Victoria, you read me like a book, too bad you are leaving, no one else could suss ...

The proposed changes do not allow direct transition from ILR to citizenship as is the case now. As I understand the new credit score that the migrant would require to gather by doing extra stuff such as community service to be eligible to apply for naturalization would also apply. Alternatively, a ...

Re: Spouse visa problems - HO wants course attendance record

I am a british citizen and recently married my chinese wife. We obtained a COA and have applied for a spouse visa. She has currently got a 1 year student visa (and has also had four student visas before that - so she has been here 5 years) The Home office have requested her attendance records for h...

I reckon HO would put in place some sort of transitional arrangements for migrants on ILR and due to apply for citizenship when, and if, the new rules get implemented. There is no clear indication of suchcircumstances in the green paper. Will have to wait till the consultation period is over to get...

If the marriage is susbsisting again then your husband must write to say so, but I would expect an interview. If you are unsure, then you may want to apply for leave to remain for access to a UK resident child. However, I would advise that you see a solicitor immediately, and make sure that it is s...

Re: 1st attempt to deport brother failed, 2nd within 28 hour

Hi guyz... My brother was supposed to be deported already last week. He refused to get on a flight and was sent back to Campsfield. He was convicted of conspiracy to burglar in 2006. Court didn't issue deportation but HO did. He spent nearly 7 months in detention. Tomorrow its another attempt, what...

The biggest joke in these new changes is this bit about 'probationary citizens' and how by 'actively contributing' to the community, people under this category can expect to become 'full citizens' in a 'minimum of 1 year' It is crap, just utter crap cmon now, this being a good citizen can not be ac...

Its all nonsense. First they extend ILR from 4 to 5 years claiming that brings them in line to rest of Europe. Then they add this additional step. What does this bring it line with? Nothing. So they justify their actions by referencing others and they don't justify their actions by making it up alon...

Hello all I've had my Indefinite Leave to Remain refused as I've had over 6 months absences (11 months to be exact) in 5 years. I have two complaints about this. Firstly amount of absences was never a criteria that was made clear at the time of application (I could have saved myself £750). Secondl...
