My employer has insisted, at this point, that I allow them to write a "hurry up" letter on my behalf, but I doubt it will do much good! They may ask your employer to call the 'employers checking service' for a 'right to work' certificate. They gave mine a certificate last september and it...

If there is no timeline to post, please do not post in this topic. The discussion posts that were made in this thread, about everyone still waiting to get their biometric invitations, are very helpful. Especially those who posted that their reference numbers aren't even registered on the system yet...

Re: ILR - Section 11 Query (As an HSMP+Tier 1 Applicant)

Section 11L is correct. You need to take your initial HSMP approval letter and to be on the safe side I took both my initial HSMP approval letter and my TIer 1 Extension letters from ukba. But the chances are they might not ask you to produce this document but be prepared in case they do. Thanks fo...

ILR - Section 11 Query (As an HSMP+Tier 1 Applicant)

I'm gathering all my documents together to apply for ILR at the end of next month, I will be applying by post rather than in person. I'll be applying on the basis of 2 years on HSMP and 3 years on Tier 1 General. In section 11, it appears that section 11L is the correct part to fill out and the firs...

Helpful tip for job hunting once you get to the UK

All, I've been in London for a week, totally exhausted but I'm having a blast, have hopefully found a flat and have my first interview tomorrow! I just thought I'd pass along some info I got from a recruiter yesterday: Make sure you bring your original degree with you. It's not a big deal (mine is s...

Lol. But I'm also wondering how I overlooked this when I wa...

Thanks for your input. My understanding is that I should be able to do EC myself even if I am in US (L1 visa) right? Also in my approval letter my consultant name is printed in the "To" address. That should not be a issue right? Please let me know. It doesn't matter that your solicitor's ...

Re: Jobs in home countries

This may be an odd question/comment, but do most of you guys have a specific field your in job wise? IT, Engineering, etc.... I'm really surprised that so many people under 27 are able to claim points for income. I'm from the southern US, and believe me, it's very difficult to make a decent salary ...

Hello all, I was awarded zero points for my Masters based on the fact that my Bachelor degree was in Geology and the Master was in Information Systems. Does anyone know what I need to do, from an education perspective, to be able to claim points for my Masters degree? By the way, here is what the r...

Hello All, I asked my bank to give me the statement from July 2006 to July 2007. The bank manager at HDFC bank printed the transactions using a Dot Matrix printer on Dot Matrix stationary. Though he has put the bank seal and has signed it, I wish to understand from other people whether that is fine...

I don't suppose that there's any inherent reason that the ILR requirements should be necessarily coordinated with the HSMP timeframes, or that the same parameters should apply at the end as at the beginning. After all, MBA grads (from the selected 50-odd business schools) get 75 points for their de...
