Approvals based on 3 months payslips is no longer happens for HSMP.
Not sure of this. They need to ensure you are working at the time of applying for ILR, and P60 cannot help prove this.
Recently I applied for ILR on HSMP basis, and the caseworker specifically asked me for last 3 months' payslips.

HSMPnUK - as others have pointed out, breaks in employment while on HSMP wouldn not be an issue. However, it would be good if you have been employed for 3 months before you make your ILR application. This is because they ask for last 3 months' payslips for ILR. Mahesh, it's extremely rude to hijack ...

I am afraid your advice is not quite correct. If a person's case is very straightforward, then postal should be fine. However, if it's a bit 'iffy' then it's best you go in for an interview - this way you can respond to questions raised by caseworker. An extra £200 is money well spent esp when it c...

nischerry - not sure why you keep asking the same question again and again. The day when you leave the UK and the day when you land in the UK are both considered as being present in the UK. So these two can be excluded from the absences calculation. Further, see here regarding public holidays/weeken...

I disagree with bani on using the postal application route. Based on my own recent experience, I feel you are much more in control of your application if you use the interview route. This becomes especially important if your case is borderline, e.g. because of absences, etc. In my case, I prepared a...

Suggest you do the following: 1. prepare a spreadsheet for the absences from UK. Exclude weekends and public holidays from your calculation of days outside. This should result in a number less than 180. 2. go for a personal interview at PEO. this way you can respond to any questions raised. 3. if yo...

travelled to india on 30 June 2007 official trip and landed back on 30th sep 2008. Assume you meant 'back on 30th sep 2007 ? If it's 2008, then that's a definite break! 30-Jun-08 to 30-Sep-08 adds up to only 65 days away, based on my calculation. You can exclude weekends and any public holidays dur...

I can confirm that the departure and arrival dates can be excluded in the absence calculation. (In fact, this is mentioned somewhere in their guidelines.) I would suggest you prepare a spreadsheet showing the various absences and total them up yourselves (using the above guideline) - and show the to...

One of the key documents they ask for is last 3 months' payslips. This seems to be an absolute requirement. So I would suggest you keep the payslips, and also prepare any supporting documentation (e.g. letter from employer) so as to remove any doubts about the veracity of the payslips (if they are p...

I got my ILR recently, so can share from experience. I had a 4-month WP until end of 2004, then got a 4-year WP from Jan 2005. I was applying for ILR based on the second WP (plus subsequent HSMP), so gave the start date as the one against the 2nd WP (i.e. start of 2005), not the initial WP. In your ...

sac is correct. The key phrase is "on which this application is based". The ILR application is based on Work Permit status, hence the relevant start date is when the WP was approved. The period before that when the person was on student status doesn't count.

The key factors to prove your link to the UK during this time period would be: 1. were you paid in the UK by your empoyer during your stay abroad? 2. make sure you can provide P60s for the period, that shows you were an UK employee all the time 3. a letter from your employer that explains you were s...

I have a question somewhat related to this topic: Which EU country offers the fastest route to citizenship? This is from the point when one becomes a resident. Please don't confuse things by posting irrelevant information. Btw, forgot to mention on important point: My original HSMP was approved in March 2006, later renewed in Feb 2008. Initially the caseworker could see only my Feb'08 HSMP renewal, based on which she told me I wasn't eligible under the HSMP-JR category! At this point, I gave her my Mar'06 HSMP approva...

My recommendation is you keep aside about 10 days and prepare in earnest for the exam. And do make sure you take the test at least a month before your appointment date.

All the best.
