This may sound a bit weird and merely a result of absolute desperation but i think that our employers (big four) haven't applied for us because they were of the view that changes in the policy would be applicable since August and there is no way points will fall to 45. So now they are covering them...

It is really bizare that its almost the end of the day with no updates. I haven't been applying long. has there been a month where there was no confirmation this late?

If you are on 41points or above, surely you just need to follow-up with your lawyers. If there is no issues with your application then you should be cleared. I have a feeling they've made the cut-off at 41p this month and are just reviewing those on 41 and above. Then if there is capacity left then ...
