Yuo need to show his ties to his home country, that is where most people fall short, does he get a pension, where does that go, can you not show proof of this as his income?
I have seen people say FDs are not taken into account, becasue they are not tangible. But when my in laws applied they supplied FD proof as well as normal bank statments and it was fine for us.
