Re: Stamp 6 - Do I need to apply for it after Irish naturalisation?

It’s only useful if: - your other country allows for dual citizenship as well, AND - you don’t need a visa when travelling to Ireland using the other passport, AND - the other country requires you to use that country’s passport to enter and leave the country, AND - the other country requires a forma...

Re: Translation of bank statements for visit visa

As I said (and as a nation of people who used to deal with these visa craps all the time), bank statements are not something that you typically ask certified translators to translate for you. Certified translators translate standard official documents such as driving licences and birth certificates....

Re: Gaps in IRP renewal

You just need 5 x 365/366 days of residence in total in the last 9 years. If you have a gap of 20 days, just wait for another 20 days before applying for citizenship.

Also any gap of registration within the COVID period does not count as a gap as long as you eventually registered successfully.

Re: Translation of bank statements for visit visa

I might be wrong but I don’t ever recall any requirement to have a bank statement translation certified. Most people just do translation by themselves. Worst case scenario you can do the translation yourself and then get a certified body to sign and stamp it.

Re: Wording of new citizen scorecard - Bank Statements

It has always been 3 months for every year that you are claiming. If the year you are claiming are kind of evenly split between two calendar years (E.g. if you are claiming the period between July 2020 and June 2021), it will be helpful to submit 3 consecutive months of statements in both calendar y...

Re: Irish Citizenship Query

If you do not reply to the Minister within the timeframe, your application may be put on hold or be rejected.
If it is put on hold, you can resume the application by replying to the Minister; if your application is rejected, you will have to start a brand new application.

I was told earlier that INIS’s website will be updated in due course. It should be safe to assume that the new allowance is 70 days per year from now on.

Re: Should FORM 8 be printed one-sided or is double-sided okay?

There is no requirement whether the forms and copies of passports should be printed simplex or duplex. The first task when an officer opens your application is to scan every single piece of paper into the computer. It’s a manual task and there is barely any difference whether the files you submitted...

Re: Penality points driving license - irish citizenship

Whether your application will be approved depends on how serious the offences are and how many offences have been committed by the applicant. If you sped within 10% there is usually no problem whatsoever. However, if you sped over 100% there is a high chance that your application will be refused. Th...

As suggested above, you should put down the details of your current situation, not your future situation. It doesn’t really matter that much for EUTR applications anyway.

The short answer is - no you cannot work for him as things stand. I could have registered myself as a freelancer, work for a company, and then hire my girlfriend as my employee and give her some of my money. Will she qualify for an employment permit? Of course not. As meself2 mentioned above, the 50...

I think that the changes with regard to being absent from the state may only apply to the calculation of continuous residence i.e. only the last year? That is correct, since the legislation requires only the 365/366 days before your application date to be 'continuous'. This bill clarifies what the ...

The refusal reasons are quite self-evident. You can’t work for someone who just says they have a company with no employees, and the company must be visible online.

Re: Type C visa for Filipina Girlfriend

For short visit visas, it would be better if she could show proof that she will be able to pay for her visit by herself - at least to some extent. Your sponsorship helps, but it is not the main determining factor. Having a boyfriend/girlfriend doesn’t mean or guarantee anything in the eyes of a visa...

When you come back to Ireland, show both the certificate and the IRP card to the border control. If you haven’t received the cert yet, bring a copy of the approval l...

There are parking spaces but they tend to be filled up quickly. I went there early enough to get a space. Not sure if there is space for everybody in the end. Most hotels nearby will allow you to park there for free or for a nominal fee though.

1. Bond has been in place for many years. It is a very popular way of proving financial situations. You will not be rejected if you provide bond without bank statement, however, as stated, they will likely ask for more proofs of finance if there is any doubt, which does happen a lot (the amount of b...
