I applied at croydon on June 14th. The call came today at 1pm.
Further checks was not related to earninigs but had to do with one of the ancestry documents that I didn't have and they needed to retrieve my original file from the home office. Ancestry visa has no earnings or type of job requirements.

Documents I remember carrying aside from the required certificates for Ancestry were three months bank statement, three months payslip, Life in UK pass notification, lett...

Applied in person at PEO Croydon mid June, category: ancestry visa (my second one) to ILR. Was given a letter and told further info required from my file which is at HO and no action required from me. Still waiting and can't do any travels as passport is with PEO. I think my case may not be prioriti...

I suggest you get this ILR thing over with as soon as possible, so you won't have to bother about a future application (which may cost a lot more by the time you apply). Perhaps ILR doesn't mean much to you, but delaying it any further might not be the wisest decision.

In order to get yourself out of any pressures if your Ancestry visa is going to expire shortly, then I would suggest that you apply for Ancestry Visa renewal for 5 years through sameday application. I renewed mine at Croydon last year, was given 5 years till 2016, but I'm now qualified to apply for ...

From their system, they should easily know when you returned to the UK. but as there are no exit stamps, it may be difficult for the CW to know when you left the country. Meaning that they may be unable to know how long you were away. The stamp on your passport at your destination could give an idea...

ILR on Ancestry Visa

Hi All, Do I have to apply for ILR at exactly around the 5 year period? I'm thinking of applying for ILR via sameday application after about 5 years 1 month or 5 years 2 months of living here and not sure if UKBA are ok with that. I would have stayed 5 years here by 1st week of May 2012. I got my in...

Its ironical that a person with an Irish grandparent can automatically become an Irish citizen, come over to the UK and be considered settled here (indefinite leave to remain) while a person with a UK grandparent has to live here for several years under some strict rules before even being considered...

See page 8 for the summary on ancestry visa and pages 10 and 11 for the details. It had long been decided since last year.

I don't think the kind of job you do or your earnings has any impact on getting ILR or citizenship through the Ancestry Visa. As long as you do not depend on Public funds.

The Ancestry visa will be classified under the Family route under the new process.

I hold the Ancestry visa and still get asked questions when I return. Most times not more than 2 questions. Last weekend, I was only asked how long I was away and when did I first enter the UK. At previous re-entries, they asked where I worked, where was I coming from, which of my Grandparents were ...

Re: 450 days?

Tats, 'you're not allowed to spend more than 450 days' in relation to what? If you intend to apply for ILR at the end of the 5 years, the Home office will normally expect that you would not have spent a total of more than 450 days outside the UK within the 5-year period. If the 450 days is exceeded...

I have heard of such an issue. Some batches of Passports were declared by the Government to have issues and they communicated this to various embassies, and the holders of such passports were not informed of the decision. That caused a lot of problems for the holders who had used their passports to ...

As long as you have the right to live in the UK, you would normally be eligible to apply for a visa at the US Embassy. However, they might question you as to why you did not apply from your country of origin, paricularly if on application, your duration of stay after entry to the UK is very short. T...

Tejess, the key question is: If they were to re-apply after a short period of time, what circumstances have changed since their last application? That is the main point the High Commission would want to know. The amount you normally indicate in the form as funds that will be available to you in the ...
