So is it definitley the case that passports do not have to be included when applying for reconsideration as in this case ? So if a reconsideration is outstanding can the person apply for another visa eg a student visa. If they uphold the ILR application then what will they return the stamp on ? Also...

Thanks Victoria, I have heard from few people that their case was taken more than a year to decide by home office. Can they take such a long time to reach decision? Or do they have any time scale that they take. Obviously fees has gone up quite a bit !! Regards B2 How long's a piece of string ? :lo...

I have several outstanding cases of this nature. It is totally out of order. So far I have had three back, approved, and I am waiting on three others. Good luck. Victoria Can I just ask you my dear Victoria. Why do you think these three cases were successful ? Is there anything in common among the ...

Except that Gordon Brown is just a tory in labours clothing. Or rather a BNP activist. At any rate the ten year rule has already been removed - in effect. If what they are saying is that they are stringent about the new interpretation including the gaps between visas then effectively under these cur...

Well, I find that disgraceful that they would refuse you for 6 days. I don't see any fairness in that. I get the feeling we are being conned. Its like they try to find any little grounds upon which they can refuse the application. Its painful. Lots of people are in your shoes. There is a post on her...

Can I ask my lawyer to ring them for progress? Or can I not do it myself? So worried. It's been 3 weeks since the lawyer sent the letter requesting for reconsideration. Uncertainties really are killing me :( Yes you can ring the enquiry line and ask what is the current situation with the applicatio...

Can she do that? If she has applied in one category already (ILR TEN YEAR RULE) can she apply for student extension before the outcome of the ILR ? I think you should run the idea by your soilicitor that he or you should send another letter to Home Office setting out your personal circumstance an th...

I never trusted Gordon Brown. From back when he started saying immigrants should do compulsory community service. But compulsory community service is for criminals not because you want a better way of life. Shortly after that he said he was going to release 2000 foreign criminals early so he can dep...

Thanks for your enquiry sunnyday. I have had a lot of advice regarding my application and due to the one-month gap the application needs to be strongly supported with other documents and valid points. This is taking some time to put together. So my application has not been submitted as yet. But I th...

How come I have never heard of this before? That you don't have the right to appeal if you still have your current leave to remain? However, I rang the Home Office and I was advised that I can produce a letter to explain the gap. But to be safe, I asked the lawyer to help me out. I say at the outse...

My wife was refused ILR in the UK because she was out of the country for 19 months out of the 2 years for personal and business reasons. Also, no offer of further leave to remain was offered and she was informed she should leave the UK at the3 end of her 2 years LLR (April 2007) or she would be for...

raniwza- it is not difficult to be part of the UK. It's unfortunate that there was no senior caseworker when you applied for ILR in-person, but that doesn't mean the country is trying to kick you out. The only thing you can do now is wait, if you can't appeal. Do we have basis for confidence in sen...

Then Ranizwa is right they are trying to bloody well kick us out. Its like evry little thing to look at to try and make it difficult for you...

What they will probably say is that to be reviewed by a senior case worker, your app. needs to be done by post Yeah, but why would that be an issue. They could have just taken in the application there and then. Ranizwa are you saying you paid the fees and they then sent you away. At any rate even i...
