Hi "last man standing"

The only other user I've heard that used a District Court outside Dublin is the user "bloody foreigner" but I've contacted him and I've got no answer.

Hi Benifa, Super post, loads of info! This know gives me the exact picture of how bad the DOJ is trying to fight us using such lousy tactics. To say that: - you can only apply "after 3 months" when it is clear that the Directive states to apply "within 3 months of arrival in the state...

Hi Benifa, Thank you for your words and support! I wasn't sure if my wife is qualifying for PR or not, in other words EU1 or EU3 . I will explain why I don't think we do. I am a EU national only since 1st of January 2007 and exercising my EU Treaty Rights since then only, because my country joined t...

Hi ginger4pluck,

Did your husband need to use the "acknowledgment letter" and if he has, did he get 3 months or 6 months of STAMP4?

We went to GNIB this morning but we were not lucky at all. First the immigration officer kept saying the same thing as last time "your wife was illegal in the country for the last two years" . "While she was waiting for her LTR she should have registered with us." I didn't even t...

Hi benifa, This is probably the only option we have at the moment, with the only inconvenient that it will take more than 6 months to get an answer back from DOJ. What I am afraid is that Ireland might succeed to change the law again or that even if DOJ will grant us the residence the GNIB will refu...

Hi Brother, The 5 years LTR will give you the posibility to change employer and be independent, very good for you. The 6th Unlimited Work Permit only allows you to work for the same employer and also will exempt your employer from applying for new WP every year (no fee and no hassle to fill in paper...

5 years LTR granted by INIS - but refused stamp by GNIB

Hi All, My wife (Non EU) got her 5 years LTR granted this week, based on work permits. Today she went to GNIB and the immigration officer took her documents, passport, LTR letter and last GNIB registration card and returned after 40 minutes but refused to grant residency to my wife and confiscated t...

As far I can understand it, this was introduced to grant permanent residency not limited to 5 years anymore. But it is based on the fact that you've been already resident for 8 years. If you were resident for 5 years only, you can't apply for it, but instead you apply for normal LTR and you will get...

Hi All,

After almost 2 years (minus 1 month), my wife finaly got her 5 years LTR approved.

She applied at the end of November 2006 and sent the PPC in mid August 2008.

It looks that it takes 2 1/2 months to get the LTR finalised after you send the PPC.

Regards,

My wife re-applied for LTR at the end of Nov 2006, was asked for PCC the 1st week in Aug 2008 and submitted the PPC on Aug 14th.

She hasn't got any answer yet and two months have passed since.
