SAB DPA and all that

Hi, I know to get info on yourself from the HO, you write to the SAB. The prickly situation is that the Company I work for rushed my ILR for me. I was not here for the appropriate time, but it was a year or so short. But now its well past the given time (5 years). I don't know who, or how, I gave in...

If you are going to be paying for an attorney to travel and the like. I suggest you do you own research rather than posting on the forum. I was just hoping that if there is an immigration lawyer in this site, then he or she can get a first shot at this. I have come to find this site more and more u...

Re: Some things are not possible?

Short answer - probably not that easily, especially as he only recently got ILR himself. But they have to just suck it and see.
If he takes an immigration lawyer with him, does it make any difference? Is there anything he can do here prior to leaving?

Some things are not possible?

This is for my computer-phobe friend. This is related (not similar) to this AD http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=16557 Here is the scenario. Last week I was up in Manchester on work stuff, and I stayed over at a friends house (I hate hotels). He has ILR, for about three weeks now, exc...

Re: Curious George

I was speaking to a couple of guys. One guy is a refugee from Ethiopia, the others from Sudan. The main issue was that this guy came here on his passport, (Ethiopian) thru a visitors visa, claimed amnesty and was granted a letter saying his refugee status had been recognized, and bam ILR in his pas...

Ideally, I thought being a refugee, you denounced your citizenship. Hence by doing that your passport would be void. In this guy's letter from the HO, its written that he has been granted Indefinite Leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom as a refugee. Its endorsed on his passport. I was just...

According to the website of the Polish NY consulate you need to have lived in Poland for at least 5 years with a permanent residence permit in order to naturalise, although exceptions can be made in "particularly justified" cases. Hence the Lawyer. Raina, I will pass on your details to th...

WRS

Since I have ILR, I agree I have to apply for WRS. Is it a big issue? Sorry? Surely given that you have ILR you do not need to register on the WRS! The route to Polish citizenship ... interesting! So how long does one need to have a connection with Poland before qualifying for citizenship? If I bec...

ILR/Poland

Poland is three years, but I learnt from our friends lawyer that a beneficial commitment to the country is enough to speed up things. Buying a house was enough, and the lawyer handled the rest. Poland is really cool, especially if they get to understand your long term commitment there. For me, its h...

How we met

I went to visit Poland a couple of years ago for one week, ended up staying longer than the intended visit (4 years) and bought a house. Which I am selling since its not in Gdansk. She on the other hand was visiting Poland (her friend worked in the UN, previously in Ethiopia but posted to Poland), m...

ILR over Polish Citizenship

I'm a Kenyan with ILR for UK. In about three months, I will become a Polish Citizen. My girlfriend is Ethiopian and will also become a Polish citizen. The application forms are about to be submitted, but we are not sure of a couple of things. My girlfriend has never been to UK, just Poland, and I wo...
