Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

That does not make sense to me! If I was in line at the store waiting to pay, 100 people walked in , how does that effect my place in line? Wouldn’t those people be behind me in line? Yes, those 100 people would be behind you. But unlike in a store, you don't know how many people joined the line ah...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Still claiming ‘5-6 months’ on the DFA website. Not very honest considering the real life experience and genuine delays of well over 6-9 months throughout this forum. Last week I was informed by the DFA via WebChat "The current turnaround time is 8 to 9 Months Minimum". They also said thi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I had no doubt that bank manager was on your application, because I could see that it was still listed on other official websites (like the San Francisco consulate and London embassy). It was my impression that you had already mailed your application. If you haven't, your options might be Send it a...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I checked on the status of FBR application today via Webchat. Application was received in Dublin on August 22, about 6 months ago. Was advised they are “working on the application” and the “current turnaround time is 8 to 9 months minimum” . They have received thousands of New Applications from the...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

In anticipation of a Jan/Feb confirmation, I applied for my US Passport ( Book and card). As a first time applicant, I had expected a little over the approximate waiting time of 4-8 weeks. The postal clerk who took my application shocked me by saying “it will be around 4 weeks”. I was even more shock...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Aside from the 50% incomplete application rate and the wait, the most annoying part is the timing.. I know they have always maintained “6 months” processing. But when I applied the “real” time was about 4 months and I was hoping for confirmation by Christmas. When 4 months came it seemed as 6 months...

https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/question/2019-01-15/164/#pq-answers-164 50% of applications are incomplete. Aside from the move and other things a lot is due to incomplete applications. Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Tom, in your opinion do you think I will be added in the next two weeks? I think what your posted about the Tánaiste's response to a question on FBR processing times is as good an assessment of what is going on at DFA now as you'll ever get. But it's still a bit too "fuzzy". "Approxi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Passport Update: As of today, I am now in the tracking system and it says: "The estimated* issue date for your Passport is: 20/03/2019." So it seems that the 8 weeks they told me as to when I should receive it may be pretty accurate. Sean, When I did my passport application in the summer ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

How strict are they regarding certificates? I unfortunately don't have any genuine 'originals', i.e. from decades ago. The death certificate of my grandparent is a 'certified copy', and the certificates I have arriving in the post regarding my parent are from gro.gov.uk, which I assume won't be an ...
