Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Sulla: I was joking about the collection. If Scotland ever did become independent and allowed for citizenship by decent, I would also apply. Currently, I have only one passport which AI just recieved a few weeks ago (USA). It is now Monday, a new week and hoping to hear soon. Next week will be my 6t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Michael 123, It's getting frustrating for me too. Feb 10th will mark one month since I received the citizenship email and I still have not received the FBR certificate or any other communication. I am hoping it arrives swiftly next week once people come back to work following Chinese New Year. I am...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

From most posts here of those who have completed the process, it is hit and miss who gets a 'Congrats' email and who doesn't. I saw today on Instagram under tag 'Irishcitizen' that someone who applied just days before me in September 2018 has a few days ago received their certificate. They did not ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I called the Dublin office Wednesday to get an update on my application (June 25th 2018). The guy was very helpful, surprised I was still waiting. Checked and said 90% sure it's all ok. Gone for approval but with the move & how many applications there's big delays. Said if I hadn't heard within...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Michael123 I applied in July from London Embassy and I called them again today for any update as I am in my 6 and half months. He told me that actually they had move the office from Dublin to Balbriggan and there are about hundreds of thousands applications which are in the boxes. They will open th...

Hello all, Been reading for a while and thought I would post my timeline and see if anyone is similar or if it helps anyone out! 22/08/18 - Online application completed + sent to Edinburgh. 28/08/18 - Email from Edinburgh consulate asking for an additional part of my parents wedding certificate. 22...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Yes, there was another, her application was delivered to Dublin on 8/17. Her last post said she was going to call Dublin and pist thr results. She never posted again. I had quoted her post (so she would get a notification) and asked for thr results twice, she never replied.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Tom, in your opinion do you think I will be added in the next two weeks? I think what your posted about the Tánaiste's response to a question on FBR processing times is as good an assessment of what is going on at DFA now as you'll ever get. But it's still a bit too "fuzzy". "Approxi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I am going to call the city clerk where I was born, ask them if Dublin verifies the submitted documents. If they do, I will ask if mine has been verified. I also have the option of calling where the submitted documents originated. IMHO, I think the documents your submitted will be fine, and that yo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

So it seems things are in a massive slowdown at the moment. No surprise really with the current state of Brexit. I applied in July 2018, my application was forwarded for approval with the minister in November 2018, and after calling the DFA today they advised that they have a huge backlog and that ...

Re: FIrst Passport . Foreign Births

The passport process and registering a foreign birth are two seperate proceedures. You are an irish citizen already. Your son is not but is eligible. He (or you if he is a minor) would need to register his birth with the DFA by means of the FBR. The wait is long! See the thread “Foreign birth regist...

Michael,
Unfortunately, as of today nothing has been received from Dublin.
Same here. I would assume that being a day ahead of you that I would hear first, but that is just a guess, we must be close! You are 5 months today and I was 5 yesterday.

Hi everyone, Thanks for all of the advise so far! I have a very simple question - the application form I printed has space for 2 photos. I have photos, which have been signed on the back by a witness. Did you stick the photos to the form or just attach with a paper clip? If signed on the back Im no...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hi Everyone, My application with supporting documentation was received Aug. 15. I haven’t heard anything since. Some of us seem to be around the same timeframe now. I’ll skip e-mailing them since that doesn’t seem to be efficient. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and see what information I ca...
