On the other hand it's totally unfair, against the concept of the EU, which on the whole I think 'is a good thing..' Why against the concept of the EU? It is specifically provided for in the Accession Treaty, a treaty that allows for a transitional period of adjustment. So whereas for the A8 countr...

The E.U observer also seems to have an 'Indian' bias on the same story...Of course, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's aimed exclusively at Indians or Asians. EU proposes 'blue card' to attract skilled immigrants http://euobserver.com/9/25029/?rk=1 It is ironic that just as public concern is incre...

Missing one key fact - Australia, Canada, South Africa etc have no interest in belonging to Europe, ideologically or politically. Whereas Israel may feel it is among nations who are hostile to its existence and views Europe as an ancestral identity in a "mostly" positive sense.

Re: Is there a chance israel will join the EuropeUnion?

thats a 2003 Article. Yes its from 2003 but I did give a caveat which states that the idea of Israel being a member of the EU is not a new concept. Israel takes part in Eurovision because it is a member of the European Broadcasting Union. You already have the Commonwealth, where the wealth is not c...

Interesting concept, and not an entirely new idea. http://www.iht.com/articles/2003/06/27/edsalz_ed3_.php Some in Israel view Israel as a European state with European views located in the Middle East. If you can sit Turkey around the EU negotiating table, why not Israel? After all, Israel currently ...

We may be going over the same ground here but the Directive is not worth the recycled, low-carbon footprint paper it is written on.
