Hi Lety, If you are legally residing in Italy (greencard, etc), then you can move to Ireland on any visa to get married. Else, you can get married in Italy or anywhere else, and move to Ireland on a Spousal Visa. That is IF you are in Italy legally, so you will have to support that with proof /docum...

No offense meant, as your frustrations are very understandable as we are all in the same situation: one income, not being recognized, and not being treated in a way that we deserve. However, I would like to remind you that cross posting the same message in various threads is not the way to go about ...

Sorry to be sceptical, but.... do the presidencies actually have that much influence? we've gone through numerous presidencies, but so far, the terms of office have been to short to actually do something, and the general agenda has never really changed... sure, the Prague parliament may have great i...

Hi Guys, Just to close off on this thread with an answer to the question: The Irish Immigration Authorities (DoJ/INIS/GNIB) require that (as part of the EU1 application) the Non-EU Spouse has to have: 6 months legal and attested residency in an other EU state. - though, I have seen only 3 months men...

Hi Runie, Sorry to dampen the mood with this post, but I fail to see the relevance? The status of the EU person is never argued by GNIB/INIS/DoJELR, it is the status of the non-EU spouse that is the issue. If anything, I'd base any appeal to deportation on the Irish constitution, article 41, which e...

Hi tadpole, I'll explain this in PM to you, so not to get off-topic.

In any case, we should also involve MRCI and other NGOs that are relevant? September 7th, afternoon, sounds good to me.

well... dont' want to get off topic.. but Ireland was one of the first countries to accept workers from the accession states.. this influx of people has caused a lot more problems than the few hundred non-EU spouses. (not those people are the problem, but the fact that the government accepted more p...

how about protest march and picketing... from Dail to GNIB? make sure you wave the flag for your country, I'd say.

this situation is absolutely disgraceful, especially since Bertie Ahern has the audacity to be begging the US every St Patrick's Day for legalised status of illegal Irish immigrants!

Hi bananaman, I'd like to draw your attention to my post on (http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=18494). one might argue that the issuance of deportation order of the non-EU spouse is unconstitutional, as it forces the EU party to leave the state. Not only is THAT point against EU community law, but also, to exercise one's rights to remain (for the EU spouse) would be in contrast with the Irish constit...

Hi miel, seems that, providing your husband has lived legally in the EU for a period of 6 months (provision 3(2) of the EC directive governing immigration), your husband is perfectly entitled to residence and stamp 4 (no work permit required) in Ireland. Application through EU1 should be complete in...
