Re: British citizenship for children

Thank you so much for your quick input. I gathered the following based on my circumstances. I (father) have British citizenship, my partner is not a British citizenship. My child (not yet born) can have British citizenship automatically as he/she is born after 2006 based on - me having citizenship b...

British citizenship for children

Dear all, Hope you are all well. I was naturalised and got my citizenship few years back. I am now thinking of future and potential children. My question is that do my children need to be born in UK for them to get British citizenship or are they still eligible if they are born abroad? My wife is no...

Re: *PLEASE HELP* We do not live in UK but partner is adamant to get marriage registered in UK

I am married but didn't get married in UK, have overseas agreement.

Thanks to you guys I learnt that registering overseas is same.

I am thinking if we move to UK, then I'll get post-nuptial. I do need a solid reason though.

Re: *PLEASE HELP* We do not live in UK but partner is adamant to get marriage registered in UK

Thank you so much for the prompt response, you guys are honestly very helpful. 🙏 So in this case, if I decide to move to UK then I guess I use my foreign marriage certificate and then use it to apply for spouse visa. However, no way I can register overseas marriage (please correct me if I am wrong)....

*PLEASE HELP* We do not live in UK but partner is adamant to get marriage registered in UK

Dear all, Hope you are all well. Me and my partner live outside UK at the moment. My partner however is adamant that she wants to get our marriage registered in UK. She insists that we can go on a two day trip and register, and then return. If I was moving to UK, I would have applied for the Depende...

Re: *Advice needed* Just short of minimum income threshold

Thanks for that.

My only choices then are pay rise or extension for a year and hopefully have a pay rise next year correct?

Secondly, is it simple to extend it by a year?

Thank you so much

Re: *Advice needed* Just short of minimum income threshold

Thanks for the response. So this means I have the following choices: - Extend the Tier-2, which means new UCoS from sponsor. Does it work in my case if I will complete 5 years in December 2019? I can still add another 12 months? - Get a promotion and salary increase - See if my job fits onto one of ...

Re: *Advice needed* Just short of minimum income threshold

Thanks for your reply.

If my role is not found to fit the shortage occupation list, I'll seek a promotion.

If promotion is not on cards, how do you get an extension for a year?

Does my company apply for it?

Cheers

Re: *Advice needed* Just short of minimum income threshold

I see, thanks for that.

What if I get a promotion to another role?

Also, would my overseas savings work if I am short?

Thanks

Re: *Advice needed* Just short of minimum income threshold

Thanks for the response. Can you elaborate what is last minute?

If I get a pay rise by September and then I apply in December, would that be last minute?

Thanks

Hi guys, Hope you are all well. I am planning to apply for ILR end of December and I am currently on Tier-2 visa however I am short by 3k to meet the minimum salary requirements. A friend told me that for some occupations (shortage ones), it doesn't matter. Is that correct? If yes, can I know where ...

Re: Anxiety: Need moral support

Thanks my friend. Yes indeed, technically its been 9 weeks right now and I spoke to an immigration expert who said that it's too early. Responses before 10 weeks is not normal and usually its around 2 to 3 months. It can be even longer up to 6 months. Let's hope it all goes smooth. I applied via the...

Re: Anxiety: Need moral support

Nothing so far. Does anyone know what steps or process does the application go through? Like what do they check or do? I have come to realise that very few people just put the submission date and timeline in the 'Timelines for November only' section. Most people put up their post once they have got ...

I was under the impression that people normally hear back within 6 to 8 weeks. I am now entering the 10th week. Anxiety has gone through the roof. I am overthinking an...
