John wrote:This morning I put the person concerned on "thin ice" and blocked their ability to send PMs. And that was before reading the above.

But after reading the above, that is totally unacceptable behaviour, I shall now ban them.
Thanks John.

You have to report the matter to the Administrator, or a Moderator, who will ensure he stops harassing you and possibly get barred. PM John about it, he is usually helpful in dealing with these matters. I PMd an Administrator last night, but realise he/she may not have been on. I've now PMd John.

Re: Need help regarding Contract Jobs..

I am also an IT contractor and it is very difficult to get a job in contracting at the moment, so, no, I would not bother coming. More and more companies are outsourcing their IT departments to India anyway, so there are probably more jobs there than here at the moment.

Re: Initial HSMP between July 2006 to Nov 2006

Hi there, I thought to start a thread for the above group. I got my initial HSMP during Sep 2006 and I got my extension for 3 years under HSMP JR. I am sure that I would be able to get my PR after completing 5 years in sep 2011. I would like to know how the new citizenship rules would affect me. Do...

Time periods for British Citizenship

Hi,

Someone told me that the law had recently changed regarding the length of time a Non-EU national married to an EU national must be resident in the UK (my understanding was that it is 5 years, he said it was 10 years) before being eligible for British citizenship.

I am Irish, but also hold a UK passport. For my husband to obtain an Irish passport we would also have to be living in Ireland, not England.

As per original post.

I am Irish (EEA national), my husband submitted an EEA2 form as a non-EEA spouse of an EEA national and recently received his 5 year residency. He has been here approximately 1 year and 5 months.

I did not think how long we were married was relevant to the physical process.

I am not asking anyone to speculate as to what future law may be - because that would indeed be a ridiculous question.

I was simply asking what the process is now, eg. what form, etc., etc.,

I thought different rules applied because he is a NON EEA spouses an EEA national (I thought he had to be here for 5 years prior to doing anything).

Yes, we were married before he came.

Non-EEA spouse of EEA National - Visa received but what ....

Hello, My husband received his 5 year UK residency visa (non-EEA spouse of an EEA (Irish) National) after a 10 1/2 month wait. I know I am asking these questions way ahead of time, but I like to be prepared. My questions are: 1. What is the next step in order for him to obtain citizenship and when d...

Their home country is Mauritania, the person does not speak English and is due to go for an interview at the US consulate next week for their...
