Insurance required??

I will be leaving to UK this month end, do not have a NI number neither a job as of now. Do we need to get some kind of insurance done before leaving to UK ?

Hi, BA allows 32 Ks, but the problem is it shud b only one peice. I find a lil irritiating to stuff 32 Ks in one bag. Jet allows u 40 Ks(2 peices) if you prove that ur visa is of migrant type. But Jet does not have direct Blore-London, theres a stopover in Bombay whereas BA has direct flight. Cheers...

Hi rrst_101, To qualify for a ILR after 5 years you need to have a continuous stay of 4 years 11 months......It is critical that you enter the UK within 27 days of EC issuance to qvoid any pitfalls later...... Many in the forum are suggesting to go for 2nd FLR but it pretty dangerous to do so since...

You could be right.But we definetely need to plan for something distant now itself and cant assume anything, but plan according to the rules which are in place as of now. Since the visa now holds good for 2 years, and hopefully gets extended for 3 years at the end of the second year , I wouldnt like...

But what I meant was, if I plan to apply for ILR at the end of 5 years , and I dont enter now within 27 (or 29) days , I will have to apply for FLR twice in this 5 year period. Are you sure its 27 ? aaah...:) thats alrite..... ur submission date is one after mine...hopefully we shud get the result next week ...atleast thats wat i guessed after speaking to the BHC lady. A slight change in tone now after the standard "december backlogs" which we used to hear all the time.

Is it because some of them have requested for a post dated visa, their processing is getting delayed? Maybe the BHC has set priority this way to overcome the backlogs.

Visa Section is currently experiencing a high volume of visa applications, this, and new working procedures associated with the recent change to capturing biometrics data, means that it is taking longer than usual to process visa applications....

It may not be of a different person coz rest of the details are correct. And even the company name, half of it is correct. Instead of corporation, they have used business house. And why did they already fill the form and send? Wasnt it my HRs job to fill?

The deadline is only for ur first application. Appeal can be done even after the cutoff date.
