Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

When is this new system ready - some people were saying that they would provide more news on it next week?

Still holding off applying, as I am keen to see if we get any sort of movement whatsoever on Priority Services opening up next week.

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

It is very frustrating no doubt, but they didn't just introduce the "might take up to 6 months" part of the application process. It is and has been common knowledge for a standard application process and given that they have had to pause the priority services I guess we can only have a ge...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

It would have actually made more sense for them to pause any sort of application until they started reopening centres, isntead of just allowing this back log to 'pile up'. No doubt it was to keep the money coming. So peoples visas expiring is not relevant then??? Remember also that many have applie...

Might be worth copying and pasting what you wrote in here - so that other people can use that template.

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

They really need to do something, such as allowing people to travel - who have applied. They want to take 6 months to process this, fine..... but they should allow people to leave and see families during this time. Or if that's not possible, speed the process up to account for the current climate an...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

they are finding possible ways to speed up the things, looks slowness is from 3rpart service UKVCAS who is not upto the speed-this is my understanding. It is good, as the process has clearly been incredibly inneficient for a while and has layers of unecessary red tape. At least they are conducting ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

It’s really worrying and depressing that the processing can take more than 6 months now :( It's utterly ridiculous to be honest, it's been setup this way in order to force people to pay for the "priority" service and ensure they get an additional chunk of money per application. I don't kn...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

So is the general consensus here that if you really do need to apply via some sort of 'priority route', wait until that potentially reopens over the next month or so? I'm in a position where sending my application off and waiting 6 months is not an option at the moment. Given the possible large bac...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Hi all, just to clarify - at the moment there is no option to select those priority options. But should we still be applying and paying anyway, even if we intend to utilise them?

My thoughts were just that there would be no point applying for something if we want to use priority.

Query on Marriage Visa & Switching from Tier 2

My partner and I, she is a British national - are planning to marry in December. Currently I am on a Tier 2 Visa Sponsored Visa and have been for 4 years, I've got an Australian passport. We have notified the registrars office of our intention to marry and forms have been sent to the Home Office. If...
