Unmarried partner of a Tier 1 holder

Hi,

If I am granted a Tier 1 Entrepreneur or Investor visa, could I bring my long-time girlfriend using a kind of unmarried partner visa? Is the Unmarried Partner visa only available to partners of people with settled status?

Thanks

New jobs creation

Hi Regarding the requirement of creating new jobs, the guidance document says: "A worker who is employed for part of a year and then leaves the job can be replaced by another worker so that the employment as a whole adds up to 12 months." Doesn't the requirement expect an *equivalent* of 2...

Types of investment source

Hi Does the kind and the number of sources of the £200k investment affect the outcome of an application? For example, an applicant owning all £200k+ compared to another applicant owning none of the investment but has asked 10, 20 individuals to make up the £200k. It seems to be the first applicant w...

Re: A loophole?

Hi If I understand correctly, the £200k could come from third parties, who might be parents, relatives or friends. Since the money doesn't need to be invested into any business prior to the application and there's no obligation to invest the £200k during the 3 years, the visa holder could invest no...

Entrepreneur visa extension

Hi,

If the two full-time employees hired are on a 100% commission based salary, then would that still make the business owner eligible for visa extension?

Thanks

Starting a business after graduation

Hi all I'm expected to finish my PhD degree in May 2012, which is just after the PSW deadline. One of the reasons of coming to the UK to do my PhD 3 years ago is the ability to start my own business on PSW after my PhD. Now that it has been scheduled to be cancelled by April, what options do I have?...

Yes, if the person owns the website (e.g. - blog) and is paid money in the UK for allowing third party content (advertisements) to be hosted / shown on the website. regards But what if the payee of those payments is someone else and not the student him/herself? The student owns the website though.

1. You cannot be self-employed when on a Tier 4 (genera) / student visa. 2. How one disposes off the income (charity, rewards etc.) is irrelevant. 3. You're in violation of not only immigration rules (self-employment on Tier 4) but also income tax laws (not declaring income). regards Is one who mak...

Employment criteria

Working Holiday Maker - Letter of Support

Hi

I hold an Australian passport and am going to apply for the WMV in Hong Kong. Would it be better to have found a job first and an employer to write me a letter of support or would a letter of support written by my parents produce the same effect? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

So, if you want to work a further 6 months after the student visa has expired, then the WHM visa would be better choice, if you qualify, as you will not have to bother with finding another reason to extend your student visa if you want to work after the initial 6 months have expired. Thanks for the...

Eligibility of the working holidaymaker visa

As I understand it, the working holidaymaker visa only allows the holder to work for at most 12 months out of the 24 months in the UK - hence, working in the UK isn't the "main purpose". However, if a holder plans to stay in the UK for 12 months and ends up working for 12 months, will he s...

Work permit or working holidaymaker?

Hi I hold an Australian passport and have received an offer to work at an UK university for 6 months, but I'm not so sure which visa I should apply for. Can I take a working holidaymaker visa instead of a work permit holder visa since I won't work for more than 12 months? As I'll be matriculated as ...
