I'm interested in the individual items listed in the spreadsheet and the corresponding expense. Although I realize the expense would no...

No, he wouldn't need to. It's criminal convictions that need to be declared. It's very often the case in this jurisdiction, for example, that the police in effect over-charge - and when it gets to court, GBH is knocked down to ABH, ABH to assault, etc. Attempting to obtain leave to enter or remain ...

I'm not in the UK yet (still in NY). I plan to go over in exactly four weeks' time, in mid-August, by which point, with luck, I should have extracted myself from my work in the US. AG AG and Amy, Thanks for your input and good luck with everything!! If you'd like to keep in touch, my e-mail is begs...

Amy, I feel bad asking you this, but can you tell me/us how much liquid funds you had in the bank when you applied for the EC? It'll help me prepare my application better as I really have no idea what amount is considered "good and/or sufficient." Thanks very much!!! Bob Well, I'd rather ...

Regarding the funds, I received severance from my previous employer, plus I am taking my pension plan as a lump sum payment. Hi AG, Yes, 12 months would be the maximum imprisonment in Virginia for DUI/RD, unless there are some other aggravating circumstances also. I like and agree with your reasoning. The solicitor handling my HSMP application says my application is "pretty strong." As for "loads of money i...

AG -

Thank you for your comments and advise! I really appreciate it!

I think I'm jumping to conclusions too quickly -- force of habit, I guess.

In any case, I do not plan to hide anything, but also will not volunteer any additional information, unless, of course, asked.

Regards,

Bob

but i doubt if they will ever found out, as resources are dedicated to more serious crimes such as terrorism
Makon, I wish this were true. These days you can get criminal record for anyone in minutes via the Internet, and I'm pretty sure UK govt would do this, as they should.

Thank you all for your comments! I think my UK dream might be toast because I was originally charged with a DUI (my blood alcohol level was at the baseline of being considered legally drunk), however, my lawyer got the prosecutor to agree to a Reckless Driving charge. Even though it was a RD convict...

Reckless Driving Conviction and HSMP EC Application

Hi all - I was convicted of reckless driving in 2005. It is considered a criminal offense in Virginia. One of the questions on form VAF1 - NON-SETTLEMENT FORM is: 4.14 Do you have any criminal convictions in any country? Does anyone have any experience or information as to how this might impact my e...

Amy,
I meant to indicate the form name/number. Did you use the Non-Settlement application form VAF1 for your visa and EC?
Thanks!

Hi Juan and push_hsmp,

I think you are both correct. I was probably looking at the wrong visa application form. BTW, I'm in the US.

Juan, thanks for the URL!

Hi Juan - Thanks very much for your input! Even though what you have said makes logical sense and I was hoping for a similar response, in form IM2A (Revised 12/01) for Application for United Kingdom entry clearance, questions 29 through 32 are about your present job. They are: #29. What is your pres...

HSMP/EC Question

I could not find an answer to this question: What if my HSMP application is approved, but I don't have a job when I go for the EC interview? (I was laid off last month, a few days after submitting my HSMP application.) How would this impact my getting a visa? Any and all comments, experiences, sugge...
