It is a bit tricky option because maintenance requirement means you have that much money avavilable to you to support you but in case, money is a loan the chances for your application getting approved would be very little(almost nil). The homeoffice can argue that you don't have the financial status...

Well it has not started yet but as far as I know there is never a restriction in changing your immigration status if you are legally in UK. It would be same for switiching from Tier 2 to Tier 1. Current example is people like me who are switiching from Work Permit(New Tier 2 in future) to Tier 1.

I think you can call them and ask about the progress of your application. you are right, the acknowlegement letter says that wait for 28 days before contacting BIA for application progress. I am not sure but someone told me that you can track your application on the VFS website.

Hi raj,

There is a minimum requirement ogf 75 points so you don't have to worry about it. It doesn't matter if someone has scored 95 points or more. You have to score at least 75 points for Attributes and 10 points each for English Language requirement and maintenance.

I forgot to answer second part of your post. Once you get Tier 1 approved, you don't have to do anything about your status. You can carry on your current job without telling your employer about Tier 1 or get another job. There is no need to be worried about it, just start the application process. Go...

Hi, I think the companies which are saying this to you are not interested because they don't want to get involved in your (Old WP process) Tier 2 at the completion of this 1 or 2 yrs leave you have. But you don't loose heart and keep trying because there are still a lot of employer's who can give yo...
