Hello, I will be applying for British Citizenship in the next couple of months. I have a couple of questions, 1) Can a University professor be accepted as a professional Referee for citizenship application. I know it is not listed on the approved list of referees but there is a teacher, lecturer. So...
Thanks. May be I wait a few more weeks before I contact the contact center.
As most of the time they are not helpful at all. But once 6 weeks are nearer I can contact them in case they ask me to wait for official decision time of 6 weeks.
Hello again, I applied online on 12th Sept 2019, document scanned on 18 Sept 2019 (vfs Manchester via solicitor) and biometrics done on 19 Sept 2019. So, far I nor my solicitor has received any ECO confirmation email from home office. Nor my spouse got any sms/text message that her application is fo...
Possibly but it was stated SMS is free. Nor they asked for any additional charge for it. Only pay for uploading the docs if you have to which we did not as we paid 75£ for uploading in Manchester vfs instead!
Hello All again, More questions as always. My spouse online application submitted on 12 Sept 2019 Supporting docs uploaded at vfs Manchester by Solicitor on 18 Sept 2019 (with 75 pound and receipt issued) My wife did only Bio-metrics in Lahore Pakistan 19 Sept 2019 (no docs scanned here) In her biom...
Thanks CR001. Yes, I think it was not necessary! I did not in my last application but solicitor said we normally do this as well just in case. I hope it wont be an issue as I submitted my tenancy contract (2 bed flat), letter from letting agent & council tax letter ( single person discount) to s...
Thanks all for the help. Done online priority application last week 12/09/2019, submitted all docs 18/09/2019 and bio metrics today 19/09/2019. Got color passport copies, employment letters, wedding photos and BRP. Rest of the docs are in black n white. Submitted all docs as I did before with renewe...
Thanks. Yes after discussing with solicitor again she persisted that we should cite after pension deductions as that would amount to taxable pay in your case. Plus she said it wont affect your case as pay in both cases higher than required better not overestimate.
I think in Appendix 2 form and application form the question is what is your salary before tax? Not gross salary. Some pension schemes like mine (approved by HMRC) reduce your salary by the amount of pension you contribute so you get tax savings and tax is deduced afterward (after pension deductions...
Thanks, Yes in the application form we wrote gross salary only for the previous employer as per employer letter. I will ask her to change that in appendix 2 and in the cover letter. It is correct we should use gross salary before pension deductions. But the confusion was due to salary sacrifice pens...
One more thing, for my previous employment (University) they had some govt approved pension scheme where you get some tax relief on pension and pension is deduced from gross salary 1st then you get tax deductions. So, you receive some tax benefits and its all legal and govt approved pension scheme. ...

Submitted online application today again with priority service. My solicitor advice to include previous checklist with new application docs and explained it in the cover letter. Hopefully it would be good this time   I wont complain unless I get decision on 2nd application but at least I...
While sifting through the docs for a new application. My wife found a checklist all ticked and signed by her and vfs staff. This had all ticks again for previous employer salary slip as well. This is again irrefutable proof I submitted my previous slips. I do not really want to go into appeal but is...
Thanks again! I will reapply via solicitor this time as I am scared now :( . Solicitor would cost more but at least more checks on my application would be still better than another rejection. Plus solicitor said they would submit docs here in the UK and I do not have to worry about they will get a r...
