Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

Hi Everyone I just want to share the timeline of my naturalisation process with you, in particular with those who are refugees and did overstay prior to being granted a refugee status. I overstayed for almost 2 months, however I was purchasing anything using my UK bank account, so by submitting my ...

Re: 2ND NATURALISATION REFUSAL

Hi, I made an application for naturalisation in 2018 but was refused and the case worker said any application made before 27 January 2020 would be refused. Re: Can overstayer get married with British citizens , question for bathanza

Getting married is a basic human right &basic part of freedom to live the life .UK rules are weird and contrary to basic human rights when it comes to interfering in people's personal lives.Let the people get married in the end they have to come to you to ask for legalization of their status you...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

I can only laugh at some members who comment on delays of refugees nationality applications by saying that refugees from organised countries have straightforward applications with no ID issues hence get quicker decisions while people from unorganised countries with ID issues will have delays in nati...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

The question is are their valid reasons for the delay or they are simply less important? Nothing happens in a vacuum. There are always reasons for why some things happen. In this thread itself, I have given at least two reasons on how a refugee's naturalisation application varies from other applica...

Re: British Nationality Act - "Good Character" - Breach of Immigration Laws

Hi, The British Nationality Act 1981 expressly states that applicants must not have been in “breach of immigration laws” during the qualifying period of three or five years before the date of application (depending on whether it is made under s6(1) or (2)). So why HO saying that the qualifying peri...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

It’s upsetting me. I can’t imagine an organisation is having team in which few are unaccountable of their actions. Never heard so far. Definitely not a systematic, and replies from HO is like you are chatting to someone on Tinder. No freedom of information, no equality and badly informed approached...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

It certainly does not help that some applicants have been economical with the truth , treating it as an optional extra, during their immigration process. If citizenship is irreversible or very hard to reverse, then it may be necessary to revisit the entirety of the applicant's immigration history b...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

Yes I think too it’s intentional delay from HO. Specially when we paid huge fees for each family member. I thought the process would be quicker as everything was done online. HO says they do checks. What sort of checks HO is doing which is taking so much time? I don’t think so HO take as much care ...

Re: Naturalisation application delays for Refugees Applicants

I think this matter is being approached in an incorrect manner. Naturalisation and the grant of citizenship is generally the one aspect of international law that is seen as the exclusive preserve of the nation-state, because it involves becoming a member of the body-politic of that nation. I think ...
