Re: First passport reference put wrong time known

ok thanks.

One option would be to withdraw and reapply, losing the fee. But the passport office isn't able to advise on how long a withdrawal would take. Has anyone got experience with that?

Is title in first UK passport application flexible?

Thankfully, I finally now have my UK citizenship certificate and am applying for a passport.

The name in my foreign passport is Miss XYZ.

I am married so would like my UK passport to say Mrs XYZ. I understand that the name must match my foreign passport, but does the title have to match?

Reminder to apply for evisa but citizenship ceremony imminent

Hi I'm confused that I got a reminder to register for an evisa, but my citizenship application has been approved and my ceremony is in less than 2 weeks. Do I really need to register for an evisa? I assumed it's irrelevant for citizens, but they sent me an email about it after my citizenship was app...

Re: Reference photos and returning brp

So we sent the BRP promptly a second time by Royal Mail Track 24 and RM system shows it still out for delivery after these many weeks. I spoke to their complaints department and they said it may well have been delivered but the driver forgot to update the system (it happens). Im wondering whether to...

Reference photos and returning brp

Hello. My wife recently got ilr (4th feb) and we are applying for citizenship. I have 2 questions: - we are late returning her flr(m) brp. I actually posted it punctually, but had no idea that stamps have all changed to QR code ones only. So the postage was invalid. It eventually made its way back t...

Re: What constitutes a professional teacher?

Btw, the friend who is a teacher at college is registered with TRA. So maybe he is eligible as a reference after all.

Re: What constitutes a professional teacher?

Oh I see. Well I suppose they could meet up together in person for the signed declaration. Otherwise, we know another company director who meets the requirements, but now is not a good time to ask, so we'd just have to wait a while before submitting.

Thanks for the help!

Re: What constitutes a professional teacher?

She has said she is happy to do it. I take your statement to mean that as long as there is a sufficient social or business relationship, then not having met in person doesn't matter?

Re: What constitutes a professional teacher?

Does the reference need to have met the applicant in person? My wife is friends with someone who lives in the UK and is a director of a limited company, but is not a British citizen. She uses the woman's business services and they also chat casually. My wife considers her a friend but I don't think ...

Re: What constitutes a professional teacher?

Yikes, really struggling with this one. We have a few teachers we know, all with degrees but 1 is celta, no qts, another teaches at college (they have a level 5 teaching qualification) and has no qts. And the one with qts just retired. I work in IT and so do a lot of my friends. I've got friends who...

What constitutes a professional teacher?

First, thanks to the mods for helping my wife get her ILR. For her reference who is a professional, she was going to put down a friend, who is a British citizen, lives in the UK and teaches English as a foreign language. He doesn't teach in a normal school (he doesn't have a PGCE), but works two par...

set(m) should I upload old BRP scans?

ukvcas portal says to upload: "All previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK". I uploaded my old passport I entered the UK with first time. I have old scans of my student brp, my first flr(m) brp. Not sure what I did...

Employer corporate restucure

I'm sponsoring my wife's set(m) application. We submitted and have the biometrics appointment this saturday. I have all the documents uploaded, but just have one niggling concern. I switched to a new job at a new employer in December, i'll call C LTD, and that's simple to include in the application....

Re: When to submit set(m) application.

Many thanks for your reply. We applied 27th Feb but now getting very nervous. Having found the original letter that granted leave from 31st Jan 2019: "Following a continuous period of lawful leave to remain in the UK of a least 5 years (60 months), and subject to meeting the requirements of the...

When to submit set(m) application.

Whilst resident in the UK I switched from a student visa to flr(m) in 2019 and got a brp endorsed with leave to remain from 31-01-2019. I have then extended it one time. At the end of this month I will have been resident in the uk for 60 months as the spouse of a uk citizen. On the gov website, it s...

Re: Leave to remain doesn't match BRP expiry

Ok thanks. It's a bit strange though because she was already here on a student visa and switched to FLR(M) in 2019.

Leave to remain doesn't match BRP expiry

My wife is currently residing with me in the UK on a spouse visa. The letter that came with the BRP said she had 30 months leave to remain from 31st January 2019, which I calculate as 31st July 2021. But her BRP expires on 28th August 2021. As I understand it, she can submit the renewal FLR(M) appli...

PASSPORT EXPIRING - Is it a problem?

I am a British citizen and my wife is Thai. We are both currently residing in the UK. I'm thinking ahead to the FLR(M) application that my wife will need to put forward before her current spouse visa expires at the end of August this year (2021). Her passport expires in November 2021, and i'm strugg...

Re: Confirmation after biometrics appointment?

Many thanks for your reply. My concern is there has been no confirmation by email, or update in either portal, that the biometrics / documents upload part of the process has now been complete. As it's a new process I fear something has gone wrong with the handover from sopra ukvcas to the Home offic...

Confirmation after biometrics appointment?

Hi My wife is currently in the UK on a student visa. I am a British citizen so we have submitted an flr(m) visa application online, as her visa will expire 16th of this month (Jan). As part of the new process we went to the Sopra UKVCAS appointment on 4th jan for her to submit biometrics. We were to...
