Those do not really address the question, they are mostly people who received theirs within the 8 week time-frame.
I wanted to know what other mechanisms, if any, you can employ to escalate the situation or get specific reasons why your application has been delayed.

We've had the same experience - though we sent our biometrics from the Croydon centre.

New processing centre - receipt of documents -Tier 2 dependent

Hello, My spouse applied to join my Tier 2 visa as a dependent from a Tier 5 visa. We scanned documents at Croyden processing on Dec 20, 2018 - using standard service. We haven't received any email saying the decision centre/home office has received the documents and are considering the application....
