My sister received her passport today! Both our journeys are now complete. We started early February. She had trouble with the passport application, but it finally all worked out. Our other sister has her ceremony tomorrow! And, I just returned from a visit and it felt incredible to enter on my Brit...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Then just use whoever you interpret as qualifying. But do not be surprised if they reject your application. They won't reject it, they will simply ask you to provide another referee. 100s have done this from abroad and not reported any problems due to referees. I have never heard of a passport refu...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

After seeing that most others had their passports in a very short time, I really expected an easy time of this part of the process. However, I submitted my application online July 22 and still nothing. It took over two weeks for my documents to show as having been received. Now it’s been in the que...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Got tracking that it finally arrived today. Two weeks it took to get there! At least I know not lost. Now hopefully they will print and send passport to me soon. What a relief. How awful to think all the official documents could be just anywhere. Hope the rest of the process goes smoother. My appli...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hi there, good news. I received an email and sms on Tuesday, saying my application had been approved, and at 22h44 that same night I got another message, saying it had been printed and was being despatched. DHL then sent an sms on Wednesday saying it would be delivered by 17h00 on 20/8. Needless to...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Well that didn't take long. Just a bit of phone tag and the ceremony is scheduled. I could have probably scheduled for as soon as next week but my schedule this month is a bit busy. Congratulations! They were so nice at the Atlanta British Consulate. It was very nice and intimate. They really make ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I emailed my caseworker and much to my surprise they responded. She confirmed that my certificate has been dispatched to the consulate, but also reminded me the process can take up to 12 weeks. Time to hurry up and keep waiting. If your certificate was dispatched, you should hear very soon. It’s ge...

Anyway, I wanted to wish you all going through this process the best of luck. Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I didn't request a change in venue, just a date change. I was originally offered a ceremony 5-6 weeks out to give me time to plan the trip to SF, but I informed them I live near SF, and they advanced me to a ceremony a week after the initial scheduling communication. I went with that. I'd guess tha...
