My leave to enter spouse visa (2.5 years) is coming up for renewal in about 7 months.
Don't forget that there will be new benefit rates next month, to base your calculations on.

1. Visit visa not applicable, Americans do not need a visa or documentation. There are lots of countires who the UK allow their citizens to be a non-visa national for a visit. If you put in USA and tourism, it comes up with this on the government site- https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa "You won...

An additional doubt, The child benefit form asks for both partners details. So, I am not sure if it is as if we both are claiming together OR its like I am claiming alone. If you are allowed to have UK benefits, put the Child benefit in your name only. Child Benefit is a Public Fund and it will be ...

What ties to the US will you have when you visit, to show you will leave again? Most likely a plane ticket! A mother by my side. And a lawyer's letter that I am pursuing divorce proceedings. 8) Divorce proceedings in the UK is not proof of ties to the US to show that you will leave the UK after you...

Your fiance needs private health insurance to pay when she uses the NHS unless it is a free service, 50% is added to the bill if there is no insurance. Unpaid NHS debt of £500 plus affects future visas to enter or stay. https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/who-needs-pay Visitor visa...

I wouldn't bank on that. A short marriage will means he wont' be required to give her much and she only worked part time during the marriage.

I don't know. It might be better to ask the CAB as they know the immigration laws and about Universal Credit.

Diverced universal credit (2)

So sorry to open up this up, but the CAB are very busy and rely on volunteers. Re: Benifits

Perhaps your case was too complicated for the CAB?

If you want more children, you won't be able to have anymore low income benefits for them (Tax Credits, Housing Benefit or their replacement Universal Credit) because there is a two child limit now and you are claiming for 4 already.

If you earn over 100k, look into putting more into your pension to reduce your annual earnings.

And if your partner is staying at home to look after your children as you keep your family, look into getting a pension for her. You can't pay much into that if they don't work, but the government will still put into that too for her, so it's free money for her old age and she can build on that when...

Re: Applying first time for benefits

If you are supporting your family (not claiming low income benefits) and your partner can claim UK benefits and isn't working/not working enough hours to pay National Insurance Contributions, - put the Child Benefit in their name as that benefit gives a credit towards a UK state pension.

I heard many people get child benefits but couldnt found any good guidance on that. CB has a salary cap. If you are over that cap, you can pay more into your pension to reduce your earnings. Re: Universal credit help!

As the CAB are very busy, Universal Credit has a capital cap of 16k. 16k and over means you can't claim UC.

Under the old benefit system, you could have sponsored on savings and still claim the benefit called Child Tax Credits.
