Re: ILR - Self Employed / Limited Company

I will thank you. I think on balance the best solution is to go with savings. Most of our rainy day funds are in premium bonds so I will top them up tomorrow to get the £34,600 clearly separate and ring fenced in either my name or my wife’s name (probably a mixture) and not touch them until Septembe...

Re: ILR - Self Employed / Limited Company

Oh - we didn't draw enough then. The company route was only being used from August and was effectively dormant before that. I did also get redundancy pay from the government service (as my employer went bust), Overall I got salary payments (from old employer) during the company financial year that m...

Re: ILR - Self Employed / Limited Company

Thank you for all your help. One last question: If the limited company had income of £40,000 in the tax year but we didn't draw the dividends (leaving the cash in the company) until afterwards so our income on personal statements won't show it during the accounting period is that a problem? Income f...

Re: ILR - Self Employed / Limited Company

Thanks for the link. This is going to take some working out. I think this means that I can use the company accounts from the financial year prior (which in my case ended in November 2023 so would be 9 months out of date by the time we apply). I can also show that we have invoiced during the 9 month ...

ILR - Self Employed / Limited Company

Hi My wife is approaching the point at which we want to apply for her ILR. She is here as my spouse and has an FLR currently on the 5 year route. In many ways our applications are quite straightforward - married more than 10 years, 2 kids with British passports, own our home jointly etc. The issue t...

Re: Claiming Child Benefit with Wife on Spouse Visa

The above answer is the information I was looking for as well.

Can I transfer NI credits from claiming child benefit to my wife who is on a FLR with no recourse to public funds or would this be seen as her claiming a benefit?

Thank you.

Re: Russian Wife - FLR (M) Timing - Urgent clarification please

Her residence permit expires on 19 May 2022. She is eligible to apply for FLRM from 14th February 2022 I.e. 28 days before completing 30months in UK counted from her date of arrival on initial spouse visa. Thank you. This will give us the 2.5 years new visa and the remaining days on her current vis...

Russian Wife - FLR (M) Timing - Urgent clarification please

Hello My wife arrived in the UK on 14 September 2019. Am I correct that I can apply for her extension now as we are within 28 days of the 2.5 years and still be able to apply for indefinite leave next time? In light of what Putin has going on I want to apply as soon as possible in case steps are tak...

Extension of Spouse Visa

Hello. My wife is from Russia and we are living in the UK. She has a BRP and we applied originally through Appendix FM Partner for her visa. We are at that rather expensive point when we need to extend. I just want to make sure I am not making any mistakes and would appreciate confirmation of the fo...

Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

Do they want 6 months of statements if I am using property sale as 5 months won't show enough money. I have had the bank generate and send an original statement for the period where the money arrived. FedEx 70 pounds on top of all the rest.... We are uploading documents ourselves to their commercial...

Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

My apartment sale is taking longer than I hoped so I am looking at alternative options. I will have a job offer in the UK lined up shortly - can I use this as the basis for applying for a visa for my wife prior to moving to the UK? If needed I can also get a financial guarantee from my brother who i...

Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

I am in the process of selling my flat - my intention is to send 75000 GBP of the proceeds to my UK bank account for the application. I will get a notarized translation of the sale contract as well to include in the application pack to show where the money came from. As to showing where we plan to l...

Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

Hello and thanks again for the help on this board. I am trying to understand if I need to be separated from my family during the Spouse visa process of up to 3 months. Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

Thank you again. This is good news. I have been reading further online and it might make sense for us to apply from the UK. It says that my wife should have a visa based on being a family member. Does this mean that we have to apply for a Spouse Visa outside the UK and can only apply in the UK the s...

Re: Spouse visa - Non EU and Non-Resident

Thank for the help. Would money held in an investment fund (not in the UK) count? The money can be withdrawn albeit with a penalty. I also own a property which will be sold prior to applying which is mortgage free so my cash position will be well above the threshold albeit not for the full 6 months....
