Assuming that you are currently on the HSMP visa any break in employment is not an issue as long as you are in employment at the time you make the application for ILR.

I am not sure about employment breaks on WP visa.

Good Fun, it is pretty common knowledge that you can do so by post 28 days in advance despite a shortfall. Please refrain from making these kind of ill informed statements when the forum has a wealth of knowledge confirming it. Try using the search function instead of winging it. Everyone also know...

It would have to be explained in writing, but we can guess that "probationary citizenship" will probably replace PR / ILR and will effectively fall under the same rules, similar to HSMP being replaced by Tier 1 (General)... I wonder if this would not be an infringement of EU law that prov...

I called the UKBA General Enquiries line to discuss appointment to a PEO. The lady I spoke to was not very sure about the shortfall thing. She consulted her superior and came back to say that such shorts visas need to apply by post rather than in person. The reason was that although 28 days early ap...

I have a question about the importance of economic activity when deciding ILR cases. Obviously when I wa...

I have seen people refer to the 28 days prior to end of 5 year qualifying period as the time to apply for ILR however this is under the assumption that the existing visa does not expire prior to the 5 year qualifying period. Therefore the original question as to whether the 5 days short make a diffe...

Well it might be possible that non-EU parents have a child who is an EU national. The example would be children born in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland prior to 1st January 2005, in such instances the child was by birth an Irish citizen irrespective of the nationality of the parents. How...
