Thanks y'all. I do appreciate the help and tips. When I inquire about positions in the UK, I'm mostly told by universitie that they are more than willing to file work permits. Best place to start is my alma mater I guess!

Americans applying for jobs in UK

Hi all, Are Americans having difficulty in finding work in the UK? If not, what kind of job are you applying for? Are most technical based such as computer software developers, engineers, etc... I received my MA in Political Communications in the UK but came back to the US and am trying to find work...

This may be an odd question/comment, but do most of you guys have a specific field your in job wise? IT, Engineering, etc.... Is it just me, or does it seem hard to make the earning power requirement because the pound is so heavy on the dollar??

Income query

Hi there. I'm planning on applying for the HSMP, but was under the impression that my income BEFORE taxes was looked at, not AFTER taxes.

Which is correct?
