Shouldn't be too long the turnaround time for first time adult applying for a passport is according to the website min 30 working days. https://www.dfa.ie/passports/turnaround-times/ just to set expectations, my wife applied for hers earlier in the year from the UK and it took best part of 4 months.

I too have just received the email from the DFA confirming address so, fingers crossed, my kids will have their FBR certificates in the not too distant future. Their applications were received 24/9/18, so coming up to 12 months.

Jaxx22 I recommend giving them a call when you have a free morning, you will eventually get through. I was then able to give them the application numbers and they could confirm that they had received them. At the very least it would put your mind at ease as to whether they have the application or not

Jaxx22 The reference to July applications could refer to transfer of the backlog from the London embassy. It may be that the priority for the DFA now is to work through that . This would make sense as it is likely to be more economically influential in the event of a no deal Brexit - hopefully now ...
