I notice that other people have done FOI and see garda vetting at least once a year. Is that normal? I got my FOI response back yesterday. I applied March 2019 and they haven't even done a garda vetting since 2019. I'm curious if others have had the same experience.
A lot of people like to hang on to the fiction that "provisional licence" is still a thing (they don't exist anymore) but if you drive alone, with only a learner's permit (a learner's permit is not a licence) that seems equivalent to driving without a licence. It's very, very clearly again...
Minor offence? Seems like driving without a licence is severe. Regardless, they'll find out anyway, one presumes. Seems better for them to find out from you than from garda.
