Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Hi everyone,

I have a query with regards to Stamp 4S.

Now that I have this stamp am I still required to have a private health insurance like I did when I was a student?

I would appreciate if anyone can comment.

Hi guys, just a quick question.

For those that have applied for family members , do you have received separate letters for the family or just one letter for the main applicant.

Thanks
Yes they receive separate letter

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Can someone please confirm if the text of the stamp 4S in the passpor is exactly the same as for the stamp 4? I am talking about the black stamp that goes in the passport when you apply for GNIB. It usually states the conditions of your stamp. I would appreciate clarification. Hi lynx I’m not sure ...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Basically most cases are complete. This scheme had near 100% success rate. All people who qualified for the scheme received positive reply. I don't know anyone who met the criteria and got refused. They were quite lenient in many cases. Of course many others applied as well and it will affect overal...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

You can’t leave and you have to stay at your address that letter was posted to.

Just kidding mate, of course you can leave, for reasonable period. I think 60 days maximum per year or something like that

Re: Stamp 1g - health insurance

You can get private health insurance for monthly payment as little as 35€. Check VHI. Once you get gnib renewed you can cancel it. It's not ideal but works nevertheless.

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

The chronological order is nonsense. You guys should read earlier posts in this thread. If it's done by how long ago your visa expired, I should be last on the list because my visa expires in September2019! I applied for the scheme in December and got my letter in June.

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

If your application is still in submitted section, it is unlikely they will adequately reply to you. I tried so many times. Even when I didn't receive my letter after it was completed, they didn't properly reply to my emails. My advice is to contact them only if you're application has been completed...

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

The assessment above is correct. And yes even going to Northern Ireland and returning is considered a new entry to the state. Here is an example: https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/chinese-student-to-be-deported-because-of-shopping-trip-to-belfast-29481115.html It really goes without sayin...

You guys should ask your local TD to put parliamentary question to Minister about the number of applications completed. At least it will give you an idea of where you are.

Re: New Special Student Scheme 2005-2010

Look if your application is complete and you're not getting your letter you should be persistent. If your local immigration office doesn't reply to you, visit the Dublin office and if that doesn't work write a complaint. The department already made a decision in your case so there isn't much to risk...
