Received letter yesterday to inform me that my application is "advanced stages of the application and with the Minister of Justice and will be contacted soon with a result". Anybody knows what this mean or is it just another few lines of "INIS" idle talk to keep you waiting?

To Rustig... How long did our LTR take to process? Also, at which stage of the process is your citizenship application now i.e. Garda, other agencies etc?? as communicated by INIS October 2006 for LTR. I do not bother to phone to enquire, because I will get annoyed with waiting and stupid answers. ...

Also applied 2006

I also applied in Aug 2006. Regular updates. LTR Feb 2009. My friend in Canada could not believe that there is no system in place in Ireland and also the amount of money we end up paying. She thought I was living in a third world.
Still waiting.

I doubt if I withdrew my application it will make any difference to the people in the cue. seeing that there is no system it will not make a difference. I can asure you that it does make a difference if you enter the canadian system as it work on first come first served.

I had two cases where I had to wait for 1. Work Permit Renewal 2. New Passport. Both times the Garda gave me extension stamps in my passport to state that I am waiting for above. As he was concerned I was legally in the state and permission to remain here until new papers arrived. I think as long as...

I applied to move to Canada in meantime. It will take less time to hear an answer. I think immigrants in Ireland ...
