Re: Is duration of marriage a requirement for settled status?

We came because of his job. Not because of me. I didn't work until the end of 2016. And we didn't change the visa because of the uncertainty of Brexit. We didn't want him to depend on me. The important thing for us is the fastest way to get ILR. He can apply for ILR after 5 years, he complies with ...

Re: Is duration of marriage a requirement for settled status?

Tier 2 after 2011 ? Law have changed . If it was before 2011 then he can apply for ILR after 5 years. If he came after 2011 then under limited circumstance he can apply for ILR otherwise he can only stay 6 years with TIER 2 VISA. he must then switch to different immigration route. Here for example ...

Re: Settlement Scheme: continuous residence question

Hi Mats, my EU spouse just heard back from the Home Office re: his application. As expected, they gave him pre-settled status BUT the letter stated the status starts from the date of the letter - this comes a bit of a surprise considering he's been in the UK for a year and we'd given them proof for...

Re: Settlement Scheme: continuous residence question

Hi Mats, Based on the answers the Home Office has given me so far, if you apply for the scheme here your clock should have started from the time you both arrived in the UK about 4 years ago - so if you're accepted for pre-settled status you should be only a year or so away from getting settled stat...

Please ask EU settlement team. They will be able to give you right answer https://eu-settled-status-enquiries.service.gov.uk/what-is-your-question Hi, I have called the EU settlement team on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week for the past two months. They always give me conflicting information....

Re: Settlement Scheme: continuous residence question

Small update: I did call a third time and they confirmed the last answer they gave (ie. in my case, it's from the date that my spouse arrived in the UK, which is sometime before we got married because I was already in the UK and we were already in a relationship at the time of his arrival) Hi gini8...

Re: Is duration of marriage a requirement for settled status?

Hello, I would like to know if you have an update on this topic. As I have a similar situation as JHB011. I'm a EU citizen with a non-EU husband with Tier 2 visa. We have been married for 12 years and we arrived in the UK in January 2015. So, we don't know what to do, either he goes to the expensive...
